Samsung's PN50A450 is the V6 Mustang of the flat-screen TV world. It may look a lot like its pricier, brawnier big brothers, and when it's sitting the parking lot you might even fool some passersby, but when it's time to throw down, it's not even in the same league. That said, not everybody needs to own the pinnacle of video (or car) technology, and when you consider that it retails for $1399, exactly half of the price of the full-HD Samsung PN50A760, you may start to... "This is the best tv out there considering price and quality and size. I researched a long time and viewed a lot of tv's and this was heads and tails above others for a 720p model. The compliments I get when I have visitors is one of disbeleif and draw dropping. It does take some tweaking to get it just right but thats ok, there's enough settings to play with. As far as SDTV, no plasma or LCD will give you a great picture thats a characteristic, do your research. If you... Read more
Here's the deal, I spent days upon painful days researching the best TV for the money. I researched on-line, in-store, read reviews, watched all sorts of TV's and noticed and came up with a few points everyone should know: 1) If your buying a 50 inch or smaller flat screen TV - 720p will give you as good a picture as 1080p. In fact all signal sources, except BluRay aren't 1080p anyway. You can not tell the difference. 2) Get a TV with at least 3 HDMI inputs. This will... Read more
I completely disagree with this review of the PN50A460 set. I've had this set for well over a month now and we are more than satisfied with it's overall performance. Yes it may be grainy at times but this review puts the grainy issue over the top. If the TV is calibrated to it's maximum potential it's overall picture is simply superb! Blacks are black, not milky black and the colors come alive. I've compared this set in store to a 1080p model and from 9 feet away, you... Read more
After waiting and searching for HDTVs I finally decided that I can not take the fuzziness of LCDs and the viewing angle of, or lack of, DLPs. This 50 inch Plasma TV with the 20000:1 contrast ratio ( The 1000000:1 is a marketing ploy in my opinion) and longer lifetime lamp was the best choice. It was easy to setup, the picture is fantastic and with 3 HDMI, PC, S-video, regular video input, and USB it has many options to connect external devices. This is the 720P version... Read more
First the badbrShiny surface you will have to clean meticulously. The Remote is non universal. It is my Opinion that the menu is poor mainly with color adjustment. It can be difficult to set so I left mine at the highest factory setting there are 3.Honestly I think that is the only thing wrong with the set. Many users complain about the sound naturally it is not true surround but I thought for just a TV it was really good much better then my older 37 LCD.brThe Good I... Read more
