Samsung LN52A750 Review
LCD TV Buying Guide
6 November 2014
Excerpt: The Samsung LN52A750 is a current Fall/Winter 2008 LCD TV model which includes non-detachable hidden speakers, 3 HDMI inputs and a 15 pin computer input. The appearance is a black transparent gloss finish with scarlett Touch of Color around the bezel frame. This LCD is next to the top of the lineup for Samsungs current model offerings second only to the LN52A850. Once calibrated, this LCD has a fantastic picture and is packed with features.
Summary: The excellent picture quality and unique interactive features of the Samsung LN46A750 flat-panel LCD TV aren't quite worth the higher price tag.
Pros: Superb black-level performance with solid shadow detail; highly accurate color; improved 120Hz dejudder processing; unbridled feature set including network streaming, built-in interactive content and news, stocks and weather feeds; broad selection of picture setup options.
Cons: Expensive; clear plastic layer on frame conducts distracting light; red color isn't for everyone; shiny screen reflects ambient room lighting; some artifacts when dejudder modes are engaged; most interactive content seems tacked-on; streaming doesn't support third-party DLNA servers; awkward clickwheel remote.
Summary: If it’s features that you crave in your LCD TV, then look no further than the Samsung LN52A750. With tons of interactive content like news, stock, sports and weather updates, to a wide range of picture options, Samsung has made sure to not skimp on any of the trimmings with its latest high-definition TV. With such a complete package and top-quality picture display, you can expect to pay through the teeth if you plan on wall mounting one of these in your living room.
Excerpt: So it is with the company's latest generation of LCD TVs, which encompasses a huge array of models in several distinct lines. The top-of-the-heap Series 7 is crowned by the 52-inch LN52A750, a gorgeous display with features galore and superb performance.
Conclusion: Rarely do I come across a display that performs as well as the Samsung LN52A750. At the $3500 asking price, it should perform well. But even a cursory search of the Internet will show you that this unit can be had for a significant discount. For most users, this set has more than you need. But is definitely has something for everyone. Want the best picture possible? You got it. Need a ton of HDMI inputs? Check. Want interconnectivity with other Samsung products.
Pros: Fantastic out of the box performance, Top of the line deinterlacing and scaling, Lots of calibration options (not that you'll need them), Great styling, Tons of extras for you to experiment with
Cons: Pricey, Stylized edge sometimes reflects image, Slow response to remote commands
Summary: Samsung's LA52A750 is a fantastic upgrade to the previously top-of-the-line Series 6 units. It has the same great image quality but throws in a bunch of new connectivity and streaming features and a built-in content library.
Pros: Great Full HD image quality, built-in content library, video playback via USB, great design, network connectivity
Cons: A little more noise than normal in the image, glossy finish can be distracting
