Rarely do I come across a display that performs as well as the Samsung LN52A750. At the $3500 asking price, it should perform well. But even a cursory search of the Internet will show you that this unit can be had for a significant discount (as low as $2700 as of the time of publication). The styling cues are dead on - that "Touch of Color" is just enough to make it stand out without being gaudy. The panel is thin enough to be ahead of the curve. But the picture… out ... Read more

As much as I like that TV, I prefer the Samsung with its better blacks, sharper standard-def detail, better 120Hz frame interpolation, one more HDMI input, and better menu system. And the Samsung is $800 less than the Sony to boot, making it a better value. Both have very wide bezels, so you need to take that into account either way. "This is an exceptional product. I have researched tv's' for a while looking for one that looked great while watching movies, playing vidieo games and easy to connect PC and camera for viewing. This is in my opinion the best big screen HDTV in its class. Excellent color and light range. This set outperforms the set it replaced, a 42 inch widescreen CRT based rear projection unit. Black levels are top notch and on par with Plasma. Refresh rate is very fast and clean. No ghosting. Even light distribution from edge to edge. The video enhancements really make movies come alive. This is one amazing television. We first saw it at Best Buy and we couldn't believe how different the picture was as compared to the other HD sets available.
