Summary: Very disappointing! Picture quality is great. Sound quality was great. Until I blew the speakers. I admit, my fault. I like to listen to my movies loud. Once the speakers were blown, I bought a samsung home theatre system to fix my speaker problems, but come to find out, THERE IS NO AUDIO/VIDEO OUTPUTS. I can not return the t.v. since it was purchased in the late summer of 2012. One would think that if a t.v.
Summary: I really like my new TV - however, am not as fond of the sound quality. I heard flat pannel tv's had this issue, and was hoping to be proved wrong. Hopes, dashed... In any case, the picture quality is amazing and I love haveing a flat-screen/HDtv that even I can lift!
Summary: First delivery of the Samsung 46" HDTV was within 1/2 the estimated time, but the unit arrived damaged. No physical damage on the exterior of the unit was observed, but when power was applied it was obvious that the screen had been damaged as there was a large starburst pattern in the lower left quadrant of the screen and the remaining screen displayed only vertical multicolored lines.
Summary: Great picture quality. Bad audio with a cheap speaker in the back. Also the TV has no additional audio output jack, such as for a sound bar to correct the poor speaker situation. The stand is cheap with two small screws keeping it from toppling over. Stand does not swivel. Poor design by Samsung. Great budget price if you can handle the disadvantages.
Summary: Excellent picture, Samsung quality, but I agree with the other reviews including a) terrible sound, b) no audio output connection other than the standard A/V RCA cable that goes to your cable box, and c) poorly designed stand that doesn't swivel. Beware of the "surround sound" offered by these TVs; such a title is dubious at best. Sound is tinny and weak, coming out of the metal back. Some sounds caused rumbling against the speaker casing. Poor design by Samsung.
Summary: I know televisions fairly well and am extremely picky about my electronics. I got a 46" for $400. So, expectations were tempered. At 60 Hz, they were even more tempered. This television blew me away. There's zero motion blur, it came pretty decently calibrated right out of the box (needed some tweaking with my absurdly naturally bright living room), and the sound is not lacking at all assuming you're not stuffing it in an entertainment center.
