Summary: In the 5 years that we have had this tv, it has had 2 major problems. It first had a power-on issue due to faulty capacitors just a few months after the warranty was up. I am an electrical engineer and was able to replace these myself. Samsung has in the last year been reimbursing owners for this repair. The second issue arose in the last year when you powered on the TV cold.
Summary: It worked really well for the first two years, then unexpectedly it started having problems. The TV literally takes 30 minutes to "warm up" before it is able to be used. When I first turn the TV on it has a large black spot/streak in the middle of the screen. After about 20 minutes it switches to having lines on the left side of the screen. This usually last for about 10 minutes and then the picture is perfect again. I have tried contacting Samsung to no avail.
Summary: I bought this TV back in 2008 with the automated mount (moves up, down, side to side with the Samsung remote) and it has been stellar. Granted, it is located in my room and gets nowhere near as much use as my family room TV but I have nothing to complain about. The sound isn't the best in the world (and I don't care to put even a sound bar in my bedroom) but it isn't a deal killer.
Summary: I bought Samsung TV LN46A750 from amazon 2 years ago. Now it died and out of warranty one year. when I called the customer support they arranged the time to come to fix it. The technician came and said that the main board was died and replaced the new one charge my wife $389.70. Actually I was not home at that time and when I came home she already paid for that. Nothing else to say. Could you believe a TV's life just 2 years and the main board died?!!
This TV will break and Samsung will not fix it. ZERO STARS

Summary: My TV went into the "on-off cycle of death" after 2 years and 3 months of owning it. I called Samsung, they said they would fix it if I had it less than 2 years, but because it was 3 months over the 2 year time period, I was on my own. >$500 to fix. Will never buy Samsung again. Period.
Summary: I bought this TV over two years ago and had no problems until recently. As far as the picture is concerned, it is a great video when it works. In October, I began having problems with the TV taking a long time before it would turn on. You would hear the relay click and the chime and it would turn itself off and come back on and repeat several more times. It would cycle for almost 10 times before the picture would come on.
Attractve set turned out to be junk - Samsung warranty only a year, but designed to break between 12-24 months!!

Summary: Like so many others I loved this television when it first arrived. Wonderful color, vivid image and sound. However, after 11 months the television would no longer turn on. Fortunately for me, I was just under the 1 year warrantly and they sent a repair company to fix it. Well, now 13 months after that I have a problem with ghostiing or double image and multiple horizontal lines across the screen.
Summary: I purchased this TV from Amazon 19 months ago, and like some of the other reviewers here, we were pretty satisfied with it. Then, just like some of the other reviewers noted, it started cycling on and off, and finally stopped working altogether. A technician came out and diagnosed a problem with the main board. It would cost $467 to repair ($200 for the board, the rest is labor).
Summary: I bought this unit in September, 2008. It is now September, 2010. Power supply is fried, unit will not turn on. Other pieces of equipment plugged into same source are fine. Web research indicates this is a known Samsung issue and that they are notorious for bad power supplies. I paid 1500.00 for a TV which I used for 2 years. It will probably cost me another 300 to repair. Will never buy another Samsung unit again.
Summary: Purchased in April 2009 and in August 2010, four mo's after warranty I began experiencing power up problems. On power up the unit would click then the power-up tone would sound, but would not turn on. It continued to cycle through power-up cycle to no avail. Went on-line and checked several blogs, forums, and Consumer Reports and found that this is an on going problem with several Samsung LCD HD TV's.
