The Samsung LN46A750 is an all-around winner. In our tests, we found excellent image quality and a good selection of features. Some of them feel somewhat tacked on (such as the proprietary streaming video; we would have preferred YouTube support), and others are of limited use (such as the photo playback features), but they add up to a good balance of features and price. While this wouldn't be my first choice for nighttime movie watching, it is very high on my list for a TV to watch in a bright room or for primarily daytime viewing. As long as you take some precautions so you're not looking at reflections, this TV will give you a better looking image even in brightly lit rooms than most other TVs on the market. Even with the caveat from a few lines ago, the adjustable backlight allows for decent performance at night as well. Read more

It worked really well for the first two years, then unexpectedly it started having problems. The TV literally takes 30 minutes to "warm up" before it is able to be used. When I first turn the TV on it has a large black spot/streak in the middle of the screen. After about 20 minutes it switches to having lines on the left side of the screen. This usually last for about 10 minutes and then the picture is perfect again. I have tried contacting Samsung to no avail. Read more

Using in our bedroom to watch those late night movies without disturbing sleeping kids. Distance from eye to screen about 10'. Wall mounted with full articulating mount (recommended). Connected to Samsung Blu-ray player. Movies are incredibly detailed to where you can see actor's pores. Deep, rich blacks. Sound is fine with built-in speakers and subwoofers, but don't expect surround sound. Provides plenty of options to tweak various settings for your viewing preferences. Read more

I checked difficult to set up but don't let that mislead you. Setup is rather simple and straight forward. It is just there are so many options you can choose during set up that make it a little time consuming. Overall, highly recommend this unit. Read more

This TV is in our West facing living room with windows to the North and West. We have watched movies both in daylight and at night without any problem with reflection. The picture is superb and has a tremendously wide field of view. Don't expect the sound to match the picture though - you'll need a dedicated amp and speakers to do that. We like the red accent, but the frame does look wider than normal. Read more
