Awesome no-frills TV
17 November 2010
Summary: We set out to find a simple and energy efficient 40" HDTV with a terrific picture, and the Samsung UN40C6300 has been perfect for our needs. We didn't want 3D and had no need for Internet apps on the TV. For anyone who doesn't like the "soap opera effect" caused by the 120 Hz refresh rate (aka Auto Motion Plus), that feature can easily be turned off or adjusted. The picture is sharp and vibrant, and we've received compliments from other HDTV owners.
Summary: I've had this TV for almost 2 years, purchased Nov 08. Worked great, picture was amazing. Well yesterday, November 2010, the TV would go through a "clicking" power on cycle that lasted about a minute. After doing some research it's a widespread problem with the TV. Apparently Samsung put in the wrong capacitors in the power supply. So after about a year or two the over burdened capacitors just simply die. This set would be 5 stars easy.
Summary: I wanted a tv based only on its picture quality. This Samsung TV has a outstanding picture quality. Deep color, almost liquid blacks. Sharp clear contrast.I have been checking out different brands for about a month. This is the best I have seen. I am completely satisfied with purchase I made. The shipping was super fast and free. No problems.
Summary: This is a decent TV but the arrangement of the HMDI ports on the back is very poor. The HDMI ports are arranged vertically along the edge of the TV and thus must make an immediate sharp bend otherwise you'll have cables visible poking out the side of the TV. This is an incredibly bad design choice as I don't know of anyone who places there A/V equipment anywhere but below their TV. It seems like the problem would be even worse if the TV was mounted on a wall.
Summary: I initially purchased this tv at Best Buy but I returned it for an LG 42inLe5400. What a mistake that was. The picture quality was bad. So bad that I wanted to return it within the hour. I didn't like the stand, it just felt cheap. I returned that as well in an exchange for a refund. I'll start at the beginning, last year when I visited my brother I noticed that his television picture was clear and picture quality was amazing.
Summary: This TV has the clearest most detailed picture of any TV I have ever seen. The HD is amazing. The speakers are average as everyone says. Mine is about 1 month old and the picture dims unexplainably some time...probably some power saving mode I dont know about yet..Anyway - great TV - highly recommend it!!!
Summary: I waited all year for the price to fall on the Samsung LED models. I think the price was around $1800 when I first saw this model. I guess buying it for $995 was worth the wait! The TV looks good in our kitchen. I purchased the Ultra-Slim Low profile mount on monoprice.com. Don't waste your money on the Samsung Hanging kit. I initially purchased the kit for $227 but sent it back after I read the reviews for Monoprice's mounts.
Summary: This is a great LED TV for the price. I was thinking about buying a LED TV as a replacement to my old LN630 and my budget was around 1000. So I didn't go for any high-end Samsung models. I am glad that I found this TV and bought this. The picture is crystal clear. It is working really well with my PS3 and Wii, and so far I don't have any issues. If you are not looking for 3D capabilities, I would highly recommend this TV.
Summary: I evaluated several models of Samsung and Sony but finally purchased this LED model. The price point was good but was surprised with the clarity and sharpness without over driving the gain levels. The only noteworthy issue is the sound quality. Probably common for digital TV but its too tinny and lacks bass and midrange outputs.
