Summary: I didn't buy this TV from Amazon, I bought it locally, but since it's still being sold I wanted to put in my 2 cents worth. From a video standpoint, the picture is pretty good, I have no complaints there. The sound however is mediocre at best. Even with a number of options for tailoring the audio output most of them are unusable. Any one of the options that enhances the bass causes the TV to rattle and the sound at times is so distorted as to be positively painful.
Summary: I have been watching this TV for about a month now and considering it cost me less than $350 (a refurb) I can say it is a good product. I have another 40-inch HDTV that retails for about $1,000 and the picture quality is much better than this Samsung. Pros: 1. The menu allows for a great deal of control on the color, sharpness, sound and many more features. 2. The setup is very simple, right out of the box. 3.
Summary: I don't care about attaching an external sound system, so this TV is great. I knew 40" was going to be a big TV, but I didn't have a very good grasp on exactly how large that is. I was really pleased when I took it out of the box. The sound and color are both good, much clearer picture than my old TV. No complaints, really.
