Summary: I got this TV about one month ago. I tested it out by both playing PS3 games and watching blu-ray movie. It turns out I like it very much, the image quality is good, and sound is good. (I really don't understand some people who really expect a high performance of the built-in speakers). This is my first HD TV, and I think at least it reaches my expectation. Most importantly, it's defective. I cannot say anything about durability yet.
Incredible Value. Amazing Picture quality with rich color
22 June 2012
Summary: I've been using my television for a week now, and this tv is incredible. The picture quality leaves you speechless with rich color and clarity. The only reason this tv is less expensive is due to the lack of features. If you want a quality tv without all the bells and whistles with plenty of connections for HDMI, PC, etc.....then this is the tv for you. Enjoy!
Summary: This is the review I would have wanted to read when I purchased this tv. I spent a long time doing research deciding how to replace my Phillips 46" lcd which was a faithful television to me for 4 years. Through my trips to each and every national electronics chain, I came to the three conclusions. 1. LED was invented to keep the television companies alive by getting tech geeks who spent $2000 on an LCD or plasma just a year ago, to buy a "new and better" technology. 2.
Summary: I took Consumer reports recommendation that this is the best TV in this size and category. We find viewing from an angle amazingly good. Sound is excellent. We made no adjustments from the default color, brightness, etc. well pleased with our choice.
Summary: Finally dispatched my 20 plus year old Sony 20 inch CRT (darn son of a guns still working pretty well) - so my perspective for high quality HD 1080 / 120 hz viewing is a bit skewed. That said, I am quite pleased. I bought when Amazon had temporary price dip to around $625. Arrived unscathed. Pretty easy to set up. TV speaker sound not terrible, but I hooked up to my receiver and speakers sooo sound is great.
Summary: I tortured myself trying to decide whether I wanted a 3D LED-LCD TV or just a good ol LCD TV. I read about all the reviews about flashlighting and ghosting with the Samsung UN46D6400 set. I went to the BB store 3 different times to see if I could see all the light leaks, blobs, etc. I would stare at the display unit for quite a long time and couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Summary: This is a great TV. I tried 3 other TV's before settling on this one. The others were good and cost less, but this one was the best. The picture at times is just mesmerizing. The sound is very good for everday viewing and acceptable for movie watching. Of course if you want the theater experience, your going to get a bigger TV and a sound system. Here are my settings to give you a starting point for calibrating.
Summary: I purchased the Samsung LN40D630 after a lot of research and after buying, and returning a Samsung UN40D5005 LED model. The biggest difference to me, other than the physical size of the units, are the options. The LN40D630 is a far nicer model in my opinion. The screen is... I can't even put into words. Seriously, I could watch any bluray on this TV, even if I thought it was a stupid movie, I could watch it. The screen looks so good.
