Summary: I bought this particular Samsung model December 2008. This was my first LCD TV that I ever bought and owned. The price tag for this LCD TV at the time was around 1,399.99 which seemed reasonable at the time because LCD TV were just coming out on the market. At first, I was very pleased with this product I used it primarily to play my Xbox 360 and watch some Blu-Ray movies. I am one of those customers that once I buy a product I expect it to last me a very long time.
Summary: Samsung LN40A630 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color I worked really hard to find a TV like this and really felt good about it until a few weeks ago when the screen went blank in the middle of a football game. Samsung sent a guy out to see if it was the capacitors, which I guess can blow on this bird. Instead the guy said it was the T-con, and recommended I trash the TV.
Summary: After three months of having the product the picture began to have defects. they would go away after a few seconds but seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours. It cost me $200 to fix it. I probably won't buy a TV off of the internet again unless it is brand new.
Summary: After 2 1/4 yrs. half of the picture will ghost for 15-20 minutes. Samsung appvd repairman says he MAY be able to repair it for $275, then warrantee it for 90 days. If he cannot fix it, no charge. Real nice of him. Other repair shops say that it's a Samsung & Sony prob. and must replace the screen, w/no guarantee it'll work. I'm too disapointed to try it. Consequently, this will be my last fling with Samsung.
Summary: I purchased this tv 2 years and 3 months ago. Its a great tv, the size, the sound, except it now doesn't work. The tv now shuts itself off then on then off then on and will suddenly blast out a loud decimal pitched noise. I did some research and found that this is a known issue that happens with Samsung. Would I buy this tv again? Probably not, I would spend the extra money on a Sony but then there may be issues there as well.
Summary: I was looking for a tv for my sun room and decided on a lcd instead of the plasma, lcd are brighter. I am very pleased with this tv. Picture quality and sound are second to none. I did not go with the glossy screen I was concerned with the reflection form all the windows. I can watch this tv any time of day with the curtains open. The only problem is when I first turned it on there was a dead pixel running from the top of the screen to the bottom.
Summary: We originally bought this TV because of its good reviews (purchased at Sears). We have been satisfied with it till recently, although I felt it was overpriced - very little difference from lower priced brands. However, a couple of months ago the TV developed four white lines across the screen, for about the first half hour after the TV is turned on, along with ghost images and text on the screen. They eventually go away after half an hour.
Summary: TV is fabulous! Color, HD picture, ease of use, all great. Easy to set up. I have surround sound so never really paid attention to sound without it. Delivery was right on time and in home. Great TV. Great price.
Summary: Before I start I like to state that the ware house sent me a updated model. From A630 to a B630 for the same price that the tv cost due to low inventory. So I got a good deal. By far the tv is wounderful it's terrific playing blu-Ray and playing video games on my PS3 slim. Now the only issue that I will complain about which at first but not anymore because the problem is fixed now. I did noticed when I be watching a movie at 24hz or 24 fps.
