Excerpt: I purchased this T.V. about 2 years ago from circuit city... Picture is incredible with a full HD input. Xbox-360 looks amazing, frame rate is clear and smooth (...as far as 60hz goes) smooth action etc... the three x H.D.M.I. ports are great for linking up lots of accessories. I currently have a digital media player (...plays movies from my external hard drive), a Samsung d.v.d. player / surround sound and an xbox 360 hooked up. They all look great on this TV.
Excerpt: I had my eye on this television for awhile and when I was finally able to purchase it, I was so pleased. This Samsung 40 inch HDTV is perfect for my living room. It has lots of inputs for all of your high definition desires. It features 1080p (hull HD) and 5ms response time which delivers a smooth, crisp picture. One of my favorite features is the amazing contrast: 30,000! The pictures are so sharp and vivid, it even enhances my dvds.
Excerpt: We purchased this 40" Samsung Flat Sreen from our local electronics store 3 years ago. It was a great TV. The picture was awesome and we were very pleased with our purchase. We arent home during the day or on weekends so we didnt overuse this unit. We never left it on unless it was being watched. We paid alot of money for this Tv because we knew it was a good brand and we wanted something that would not only work to our satisfaction but also last a long time.
Excerpt: We have had this tv for going on 2 yrs. It has been a great tv. We compared it to a Sony and found the picture quality and price to be better. We've had other Samsung products in the past and foud them to very good, long lasting and served teir purpose very well.
Excerpt: We waited forever to purchase our first flat panel HD TV. We did A LOT of research and we went over and over all the pros and cons of every TV. This one won by a mile and we are so happy with it. Not only is is a nice name brand, but it looks great, it is easy to use and the picture is incredible. The picture quality is so clear and the refresh rate is fast too. We waited to watch Avatar at home until we got this TV and it was just like being in the theatre.
Excerpt: Purchased this bad boy coming up on nearly two years ago. I've yet to watch a blu-ray on it (lack of blu-ray player), but I'm sure it'd look so real that your brain would light on fire. Before this upgrade, I had a 24" tube TV that was in dire need of being retired. Boy, did I retire it in a big way. I'm a huge NBA fan, so being able to finally watch these games in high def the last year or so has been awesome.
Excerpt: We bought the samsung tv based on price and size. We really didn't look into anything other than that we were ready to trade in our small large and heavy tv for something sleaker and a screen that was much bigger. We found this one at Best Buy for a very reasonable price. I don't have cable or sattelite so unfortuantly I don't know if it does well with HD channels. However, he has done the job in every other way. It has an SD port to put your camera's SD card in.
Summary: I had bought this TV in Oct 2008. It worked fine until last week. It was taking a long to turn on and finally it didn't turn on at all. I couldn't believe that I was having this problem with a SAMSUNG TV after paying $1000. So I called SAMSUNG and they told me that it might be a know internal problem. They said that although my warranty has run out they would fix it for this one time.
Summary: There are a ton of complaints about power issues and a handful of other things. It seems that most last for only 12 to 24 months. I have had mine for three years and it just started to have problems. It really irks me because I don't watch a lot of TV. The only thing I can get to work when it does final power up is coax cable TV. None of the HDMI inputs work and if you try to check and see, the TV will freeze and you will have to unplug it from the wall to turn it off.
