Cheap parts don't last

Mike, Amazon
27 September 2011
  • Summary: After 3 years I've run into two significant problems with this TV. First, the standard capacitor issue, which Samsung decided to universally fix free of charge after a class action lawsuit. Second, the picture started to become distorted, dark, and have pulsating horizontal lines.

Screen developed defect after 2 years of use, $1100 repair needed

Anthony Pavlak, Amazon
13 July 2011
  • Summary: This TV was great while it lasted. But after about 2 years, the screen developed a shadowy defect on the right side of the panel. Looked like a swoosh running from the top of the screen to the bottom, not uniform. Turns out the screen panel was defective.

Same problem as everybody else - The TV is only good for two years.

Andreas Dietzel, Amazon
21 April 2011
  • Summary: Same problem as mentioned in the numerous 1 star reviews here. The screen is completely black when turned on and takes about an hour to warm up. After what I've read in the other reviews here it even seems pointless to have it repaired. In the market for a new TV 3 years after I bought this one...

Not sure who will look, but problems

Robert W., Newegg
24 December 2010
  • Pros: Good while it lasts
  • Cons: Breaks quickly. Apparently I'm a lucky one making it to 3 years. Many Samsung TVs have low voltage capacitors used in their power boards and tons of people are starting to see issues because of it (just outside the warranty usually...no wonder Samsung only offers a year). If you see this TV refur...

Horrible garbage - Samsung is a terrible company

R. Willingham, Amazon
24 December 2010
  • Summary: Like so many others that reviewed this, I bought my TV a couple years back and loved it initially. For the price, the performance and size was great. The downside to this TV is that it fails all too quickly. I now have half of the screen in a black gradient while watching shows.

Lots of issues with the product.

J. Kaw, Amazon
15 December 2009
  • Summary: I bought this TV in March of 2008. The first TV that was shipped had some sound issues and we had to return the same. The second one that was sent was fine for the next few months and then started having some picture quality issues.

Streaks on display after warranty period, Samsung is no help

Amazon Customer, Amazon
30 November 2009
  • Summary: Watch out for Samsung LCD TVs. This model worked fine for about 15 months, then grayish vertical streaks appeared that looked like smudges on the screen. Had repairman come out, he said the pixels were messed up on that portion of screen. Replacement screens run $800 plus installation.

15 months and worthless

T. Callahan, Amazon
20 November 2009
  • Summary: Per my local tv repairshop, the LCD panel is bad. Like some others noted, the problem started with a shadow on the LH side of the screen, accompanied by a lag in the TV on that side. Problem began appearing about 15 months after I purchased the product.

Highly unreliable

LT, Amazon
12 November 2009
  • Summary: I bought this unit in June 2007 for $2450 from Best Buy. While it worked, it worked well. Keep in mind, there are three main assemblies in this TV: the CPU circuit board; the power supply, and the LCD panel itself.
