Summary: After spending $1000.00 on this flat screen and according to reviews and some research at the time I thought it would be reliable for many years. 1 month after the warranty expired it stopped working. After contacting Samsung I received no help and they didn't stand behind their product. Thanks to some online help I repaired it myself for the price of a soldering gun and a few capacitors. Samsung installed the wrong capacitors on the circuit board, unbelievable.
Summary: This TV, as stated by others, must be made of inferior parts. So much so that a class action suit was won to provide consumers with a fix, provided by Samsung, but for a limited time. Those of us whose sets exhibited the symptoms of a bad capacitor after that date were out of luck. The expense involved to fix this is prohibitive. You might as well buy a new TV. . . just be sure not to buy another Samsung. They do not stand behind their inferior products.
Summary: ok, caps are easy to replace. Theres 4 of them 1000uf 35 volt replacements can be had at radio shack. Took 10 minutes to pull the board. and 10 minutes to solder fixed PERFECT. Replace ALL 4 not just 1 and enjoy the next 10 years with it.
Summary: The previous complaints were right-on. There will soon be clicking sounds and a problem turning the tv on, taking as long as 20 to 30 minutes until it just doesn't turn on. I researched this and there are tons of boards with complaints about the problem which boils down to cheap parts on the power board, of which Samsung will not take responsibility for. The cost to repair this is a few hundred, so just add this to the cost of this supposed "deal" of this television.
Summary: I have a Samsung LNT4032 for 2 years. One day it started to take more than one click to turn on then 2 then 3 then 50 at one point it stopped working- When googled i Found that this is a universal problem!!. Called samsung tech support- the recoding said they have tech difficulties then hang up- Pay the extra $100-200 and GO WITH SONY- I wish I did-
Summary: We bought this samsung tv along with a smaller one around the same time. After 6 months of use the smaller tv started making clicking sounds, turned itself on and off, and failed to start. Thinking it was the remote we changed batteries and purchased a new remote. One day it just stopped working. I did some internet research and found this to be a problem with some of Samsung's tv's. We gave the tv to a family member who had it working after replacing the mother board.
Summary: Previous review stated the situation very well. We bought this tv for our mother about 2 years ago and it has started showing exactly the same symptoms. Called Samsung after discovering the issue was not a new one from the message boards only to find out that yes, Samsung is now acknowledging that there is a problem BUT we purchased our tv one month out of the time zone they were willing to take responsibility for. Thanks for nothing Samsung. Would NOT recommend this tv.
