The Samsung LS-4695D is advertised as a 1080p TV but it does not support a 1080p signal. The Samsung website even states that this TV does support 1080p [...] "The Component input jacks of the 2006 LN-S4095D and the LN-S4695D accept 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p signals." The user manual states this TV only supports 720p and 1080i. I have tried multiple 1080p signals on this TV and it DOES NOT support 1080p. Read more

I have had this tv for a month and a half already and it's only worked properly for the first two weeks. Since then, it's been a big black void reminding me of what else I could have been doing with my money. I would not recommend buying an expensive piece of hardware like this considering NewEgg's bulk item policy. I've had no recourse except to write this negative review. It is frustrating. Read more

    • Beautiful picture, lots of input variety, and good looking TV in general. /When it works/
    • Samsung service sucks. After two weeks of having the tv, my picture began to fail, I immediately called Samsung for support. A week later I had an appointment and had ...

I looked at Sony , Sharp and Samsung. Decided on the LN-S4695D for all the features and the swivel base. But if I had the chance to do it all over again, I would not buy the Samsung. Expertise: Engineer. Problems Encountered: The LCD screen became suddenly dark after 5 month. On another occasion the LCD turned itself off with no reason. The first time I contacted Samsung, I was told it would be 1 business days to get a technician out to look at it. Read more

The Samsung LN-S4695D is one of two TVs in this class and is 46 inches wide, while the LN-S4095D is only 40 inches wide. Not a lot of users can really comment on theLN-S4695D as they have not had the opportunity to review it yet. They, however, did say that all of the LN-S95D series TVs were just about identical in terms of the features that each TV set has. All of the models have 2 HDMI Inputs as well as 2 Component Inputs (for that DVD Player) &, for those who want to hook their PC up to this TV for super-sized online gaming – there’s a VGA-style PC Input. Can you imagine what those PC/online games will look like on this TV? It was noted that these models also have an Integrated HDTV Tuner, but it don’t have a Cable Card Slot. All this really means is that you’ll need to have an external Digital/HDTV Cable Converter Box to make full use of all of its features. You will also be able to hook up & use a DVR on these models.

Quite a few customers have given their opinions about the LN-S4695D. Most of them, have only one comment that seems to be echoed among those who own this particular TV is that it’s a little on the expensive side, though Some users made the comment to look for prices to start dropping this month (Jan 2007). This was the only negative comment among the users who currently own this TV. They all were amazed or astounded by it’s easy set-up right out of the box, the brilliant clarity of the picture and the resolution that they saw. As a final conclusion, this one beats the rest hands down.
