I am pleased I chose this Samsung as my first LCD tv

Summary: This was my first expierence with high definition television. I decided to get a Samsung after doing a lot of homework. The set has a lot of features and the picture quality is outstanding. I really like that you can control your picture settings for each input (cable box, dvd, video games). I connected a Playstaion and Wii using component cables and put the tv in game mode - wow!
Summary: I bought this TV about a month ago and its been pretty good so far. It has great clarity, good sound, easy to setup and use controls. If you are not a very picky hard core gadget freak then this TV is an easy pick. Some negatives (but minor in my opinion) 1. The speaker are facing the rear and seem to throw sound backwards. I dont have an issue as I am not mounting it on the wall. But some one mounting on the wall might want to check on this before they purchase this. 2.
Summary: I love the TV. It was easy to set up and figure out with one exception. I couldn't figure out how to connect my stereo amp/receiver. I know how to do this and have done it with all my other systems. I am dissapointed in Samsung Customer support. the woman I talked to was not knowledgable. She offered a call back from the upper tier of support. That was last evening. No call back yet 15 hours later. Love the Tv not the Samsung support.
Summary: TV was received on time and in good condition. Delivery guys were prepared to install/set-up, but we didn't have the room ready for it yet. Once we did perform the set-up, it was very simple. Like others have said, having two people when mounting the TV to the swivel base is helpful. Connections were very simple. Everything seemed to work very well right away. We're still dialing-in the picture settings.
Summary: This was our first flat-screen HD television, replacing an old 27 inch tube model. I did a fair amount of research and determined that this particular model was the best value for our money. This is not the most current technology (i.e. not LED or 3D). This is in fact an advantage of this set in that the prices for LCD-only TVs have come down with the introduction of LED and 3D TVs.
Summary: When I finally decided to upgrade to a flatscreen TV, I did weeks of research, until my eyes were bleeding from reading about tech specs that made little to no sense to me. I finally decided on this 46" Samsung LCD, both because it was a recommended best buy on CR and because of multiple glowing testimonials from friends. Overall, I have to say that I am very, very pleased with this TV, with a few caveats, which I will describe below.
Great - Once you set it up & turn off the Auto Motion Plus feature

Summary: While watching The Pacific on HBO High-Def over DirecTV, I found the picture to be very choppy. Once I turned off "Auto Motion Plus 120Hz" and just set it to 60Hz, the picture was much smoother. Here are my picture settings, which I am very happy with (I have a very dark room): Mode: Natural Backlit: 15 Contrast: 75 Brightness: 50 Sharpness: 33 Color: 60 Tint: G50/R50 Picture Options -> Colortone: Normal Digital Noise Filter: Off MPEG Noise Filter: Off Hope this helps...
Summary: First big ticket item I've ordered sight unseen. Delivery was fast and within the provided time window. Rated 4 stars just because I haven't had it that long, and I'm unfamiliar with other models. The set meets or exceeds all of my expectations. I got an "S" panel. Pros: The picture is very crisp even in standard definition and lower frequencies. The HD sometimes has an almost 3D effect. I've never had HD before so it's like a whole new world.
Summary: For the money, you can't really top this TV. Most signals from Cable, FIOS, etc are less than this TV can display so don't waste your money on the latest and greatest unless you want to watch BlueRay discs with surround sound in a media room. This TV is perfect for everyday normal TV watching and is well worth the money.
