Good but problematic

Summary: I bought this tv 3 weeks ago. One of the reasons I bought it was a friend bought the C630 last year and it is a great tv. So, I had a personal referral. One of the features that's been written about here in the reviews as a major selling point is the AutoMotion Plus.
Summary: It is a nice TV. The picture quality out of the box is stunning when it is on a TV channel that is broadcasting a high quality HD signal. So why only 3 stars from me? 1) Cost. TV's like this one cost about twice as much as they should (compared to the last TV you bought).

Summary: I bought this on a whim at a local big-box store after seeing true blacks beat the competing LG 47" model. Everything about the TV is incredible, especially compared to the 32" Toshiba LCD it replaced.
Summary: We bought our Samsung HD TV in April 2010. It worked like a champ, with a beautiful picture and great sound--right up until a month AFTER the warranty expired when, in the middle of a program, the screen suddenly went black. The audio still worked; but after a few minutes that, too, quit.
Summary: I should mention first that this is my first ever flat panel TV and the largest TV I've ever owned. And I have done research on the different types of TVs for a while so I thought I knew what I wanted. And I like this TV overall but there are some quirks that unfortunately come with LCD's.
