Bug in my Samsung TV
16 May 2011
Summary: We bought our Samsung HD TV in April 2010. It worked like a champ, with a beautiful picture and great sound--right up until a month AFTER the warranty expired when, in the middle of a program, the screen suddenly went black. The audio still worked; but after a few minutes that, too, quit. We finally called a repairman to fix a 13-month-old TV. (We have not heard back from him yet, but early indications are it will need hundreds of dollars worth of repair!
Summary: I first ordered this set in early August and I really wanted to like this television. It is easy to set up, it has a good remote, and the built-in speakers are acceptable. At first glance, the picture is very good (once taken out of "torch mode" and the "soap opera effect" has been minimized by turning off (or minimizing) the Auto Motion Plus feature. The backlit remote is nice, but not *all* of the buttons are lit.
Excerpt: We recently purchased this TV after looking at SEVERAL in our local Best Buy. We decided to go with this one because of the Internet options. We currently use a Roku Box to stream Netflix and Hulu to our other television and figured with this TV, we wouldn't need another Roku Box. Unfortunately, the Netflix and Hulu Apps on the Television are not as good as the one on the Roku Box.
