Not worth your hard earned money....
24 August 2013
Summary: Bought this TV on Dec. 22, 2011 from a major local retail store as a Christmas gift for my retired mother. It was the best "40 LCD on the floor, not a 3D or smart tv, but would serve well. It was easy to set it up with Comcast. The image was crisp and not a problem within the 1 year warranty.
Buy Samsung if you want to catch-up on reading and playing board games

Summary: I purchased this TV in May 2010 from Amazon.com. The price was good (it has not gone down much since then, though, which is surprising), and overall, I was fairly satisfied with the TV in the first year of ownership. I was not blown away with the quality.
failed after 2 years - picture flickering/strobing

Summary: This TV was wonderful for the first two years I owned it. Excellent image, nice controls, plenty of inputs. Then after about 20 months it would occasionally flicker (more like a strobe light). It got progressively worse and worse until it flickered constantly and therefore was unwatchable.
Summary: I bought this Tv before Christmas in 2010, and it did fine until about two weeks ago. The channels change on there own, the volume goes up and down on its own, the source will change, it will cut off and on and it will change to store mode.
Summary: I bought this a little over four years ago & the screen is now unwatchable & no one will fix it. When you turn on the picture the entire right of the screen does not work. Sometimes the right side will work but it is very dark.
Summary: Bought this tv for my parents in 2010. the picture was great and the unit was nice. But after only about a year and a half the LCD screen suddenly starts to flicker. I did a research on the internet and found this to be a common problem with Samsung.
Bad product (stopped working after 12 months), bad Samsung service

Summary: What a conincidence. 1 year and 1 weeks after I bought this TV (i.e. 1 week out of warranty) the image starts flickering making it impossible to watch TV. Very disappointed, these TVs should work for years without issues.
Summary: Maybe I just wasn't lucky, but I got two of these TV's and in each case the screen was faulty. On the first one, the right side of the screen was considerably brighter than the left. This was particularly annoying during night scenes and while watching in a low-light room.
Good TV but Samsung is plauged with capacitor problems

Summary: I've had my TV for maybe a month now and I've been happy with it. The online services it advertises are basically a waste of breath. There is no reason to ever use it really. The USB option for playing movies off a hard drive with the television are a good idea, but it takes too long to sort through...
