After lots of research and reading great reviews, I purchased television in Sept

Jennifer H, Amazon
15 December 2014
  • Summary: After lots of research and reading great reviews, I purchased television in Sept. 2009. Beautiful picture until Nov 2014...only 5 years. Without any warning signs there might be problems, I turned on few days ago and vertical lines (red, yellow, black) running thru the entire screen. After reading many reviews about the same problem, this must be a flaw with Samsung televisions and too expensive to repair.

Junk

Jason Lindenschmidt, Amazon
5 June 2014
  • Summary: Developed horizontal black lines across the screen after only a couple years of use. Planned obsolescence or just poor quality by Samsung? Either way I'll never purchase another Samsung product again.

Only lasted 3 years...

Dianna B, Amazon
4 November 2012
  • Summary: Please don't waste your money on this TV. If you do buy it, get the maximum warranty because my $1500 Samsung LN46B650 lasted nearly 3 1/2 years. I only purchased a 3 yr warranty but I understand there was also a 4 yr warranty. I've had better picture and especially sound quality on other TV's and they have lasted a minimum of 10 years without any extended warranty. If I were you, I'd invest my hard earned dollars in a different manufacturer/model.

Don't believe the hype.

JOHN H O'HAIR, Amazon
5 January 2012
  • Summary: I have had this TV for just over 2 years and it started having vertical color bluring and image ghosting. Checked online and found hundereds of other people with the same TV that are having the same issue. Called Samsung and was told too bad since it was outside of their warranty. $1400 is a lot of money to spend on a TV that only last 2 years; It's a lot of money to give to a company that doesn care if you are happy with their product; it's a lot of money to give to a...

Bad Samsung

Chris T. Mclean, Amazon
30 December 2011
  • Summary: I also have this the issue noted from many of the the other reviewers. Just after two years this TV started with all the banding. It sounds like Samsung is not going to step up and admit that this TV has this problem and give us a fix. I have the previous model Samsung to this one also, and it is still going strong. After this one failed and the all the other reviewers who's also failed I will not be replacing it with another Samsung.

Picture was great, just didn't last past two years!

grranimall, Amazon
8 August 2011
  • Summary: I bought this TV in May of 2009. Just a little over a week ago, all of these lines appeared on the TV. They covered the entire picture and even though the picture was being displayed behind it, you could not get rid of the lines. I tried different inputs thinking (hoping)it was just that input, but unfortunately that was not the case. I called Samsung support, they had me try one other thing and the lines were still there.

Samsung won't acknowledge problem

JD, Amazon
29 March 2011
  • Summary: We bought this TV in 2009. A month ago vertical colored lines started appearing in the middle of the screen. We looked online and found many complaints about this issue with this TV. We called Samsung and they said they haven't heard of any complaints. That it would be $160 for someone to look at it and then about $600-700 to replace the panel. This TV has a definite defect. Beware.

Beware of this TV, some specs are mislieading or wrong

Gene Warner, Amazon
11 March 2011
  • Summary: Two years ago when I bought this TV I thought I was being very careful and making a good buying decision, turns out I was mislead by Samsungs very confusing presentation of the specs. Features I thought were there weren't and some features you'd expect to be there like s-video input, are completely abscent! If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy a Sony! At least with them you know what you are getting! *** Update *** Definitely avoid this TV!
