Summary: Here's a public service announcement: this Samsung television is garbage. I bought a new one 3.5 years ago. It worked fine, until three days ago when suddenly, and for no discernible reason, it turned itself off. Now it has no picture, no sound, and unless your idea of captivating television entertainment is to watch a tiny red power light blink sporadically, this product is a complete failure.
Summary: The Samsung tv's are great. I assembled the tv myself -added the attachments that enabled it stand- I just wish it was easier to set up the control units so that the tv is fully operational. For many of us I suspect it will be a good idea to have a technican assemble and program it.
Summary: I purchased this TV in 2010 based on the excellent reviews. About 6 months ago it started turning itself off and then turning itself back on within 5 minutes. Over the past few months the situation has worsened and last night it turned itself off and on a total of 12 times in just under 6 minutes. In researching this problem, I found that back in 2010 Samsung had a class action suit brought against them because of this issue.
Summary: I've owned this set for almost three years. Picture and sound is all great, and there have been no defects. BUT BE WARNED: If you ever want to play your ipod or other audio through the speakers it will not play. The speakers cut off unless there is also video being sent at the same time. This seems intentional and is a huge disappointment. Pfft. I've been able to do this on every other TV I have owned. Annoying!
Summary: I bought this for my mother, hear complaints are as follows: 1. It is too dark (which some others complained of as well); 2. It takes too long to load up; 3. And, as with all Samsung LCDs, the sound isn't great. However, the picture/detail is great and I wouldn't say its bad. For some reason, the 46 and 52 inch LCDs are much better than their smaller counterparts. As such, I recommend anyone thinking of purchasing this saves their money for one of these larger models.
Summary: We purchased this model LCD TV set in May of 2010. The sticker on the back says it was manufactured April 2010. After about a year the TV kept turning itself off and then back on again. This happened once or twice a night, so we ignored it. After all, it still worked. Then this last week it kept turning off and on again about 5 to 10 times a night and then last weekend, it wouldn't turn on at all.
Summary: I've had this Tv for almost 3 months now. It replaced a very old 19". I chose this size & brand based on my sisters advise. I had been considering a larger- 38 - 40"- but this size is perfect. I am viewing from about 8ft away & it's so much bigger & clearer than the old set. And now I can see the whole picture, unlike the old set that chopped off the sides or made the picture tiny to fit the elongated form.
