Summary: This was my first HDTV purchase. As such I did weeks of research reading every review I could find and poring over forums. In the end I found that this was one of the best picture quality/price combos you can find.
Summary: I cannot be more satisfied with my purchase. Not only was this TV a great Price to begin with it was later discounted even more. I wrote Amazon about it and next day there was a refund for the diference!! is this great customer service or what?
Summary: There is plenty of evidence, and user comments, that show how just how happy the vast majority of people are with this set! Regarding Graflo's comments: Burn-in means the set has an image that will not go away.
Pros: Outstanding picture for the price! HD picture right up there with the best! We find SD picture just fine, but the high definition shows are incredibly sharp! Very rich colors and deep blacks. Sharpness and clarity are so good there is little reason to pay more for 1080P. Many controls and setting...
Cons: As others have mentioned, the sound is not the best, but WHY would you have a TV as good as this one and not have it hooked up to a stereo/home theatre system? Quality Dolby sound adds so much.. Yes, you do have to be careful about leaving the set paused on a single image for a long time, but tru...
Summary: Bottom line... I guess this is all standard for Plasma and I'm a dope for rushing into this. I wanted a big TV for the Superbowl and I didn't do enough research. I wish I had spent the extra money on a LCD.
Pros: This is my first non CRT TV and the HD is incredible through my satelite. The case is sleek and there are plenty of input options.
Cons: I read the other reviews before buying and I feel like I was duped... The screen DOES burn in... The tv comes with a couple of programs that you have to run for at least an hour to "wash" out the burnt in images. Now I read the instructions and recomendations about the "Break-In" period. B/S if y...
Summary: I am very happy with the TV, I did a fair amount of research before deciding on which plasma to buy. Samsung does tend to get pretty high marks from owners so that why I went with this set. Delivery was an issue though, in my area AIT uses FedEx for home delivery.
Pros: Picture, good # of HDMI inputs, very good value at this price point!
Cons: Like many have said the sound quality isn't the best, surround sound system hasn't arrived yet when it does that will help. Reflection or glare off the screen could be an issue if you have it in a bright room.
Summary: I couldn't turn it off the first night I got it. The picture is way better then any lcd tv. (I have 4 lcd's) This is my first plasma. I was using rabbit ears and the HD was perfect. The TV is nice and slim and the black gloss finish makes it look really expensive.
Summary: TV is beautiful! I love it,great picture, great color; A+ BUT watch out for burn in. Ive always known it was possible on plasmas but i did not know how easily. Sometimes after surfing through the comcast On Demand screen I will notice the comcast logo will be shadowing on the sc reen for a minute.
Summary: I bought the Samsung HPT5054 because of its modern design and picture quality. In these two areas, the TV does not disappoint. It is certainly a very sharp TV and has an excellent picture while in HD and SD.
