Summary: I called Samsung and they said this is a burn in issue and not under warranty. She also said the burn in protection does not protect from burn in - not really sure why its offered.
Pros: The price is great and out of the box picture is wonderful.
Cons: This TV has serious burn in issues on the sidebars. Make sure you zoom in with regualr broadcast to avoid the black sidebars. I had the burn in protection set and tried to use burn in fix tool - not much help.
Summary: Bought this tv from large box store and buzzed right away. Manufactured 10/2006. went and returned and got replacement ASAP. Got one made 11/2006. The buzzing was 4 times as loud. No more of these Samsungs in my town. I went back and got the 1st TV back and can live with it.

Summary: We had this TV for only 3 years when suddenly the bottom half of the screen would begin to flicker to black after the TV was on for about 90 minutes, sometimes sooner. I searched the internet to find that I'm not alone with this problem and from what I can tell the fix might just be a cold or poor...
Summary: The best plasma tvs are Pioneer 1080 Plasma and Toshibas 720P. I sell and repair alot of TVs and I compare pictures and Toshiba hands down wins. Samsung has alot of DLP Plasma Audio problems, and support problems.
Pros: 50"? None really.
Cons: First off, its made by samscum, also one of the worst companys providing support for their products. Picture didnt look good at all, the Toshiba Plasma far beat these grainy Pictures. Not 1080.
Summary: After a lot of research on flat screen TVs and hours in electronic stores comparing picture quality, there was no doubt in my mind that this Samsung plasma had definitely the best picture quality in its price segment.
Summary: I just wanted to let you guys know, I have a Hitachi Plasma, and I had a buzz with my tv. I ran a seperate outlet, and the buzz went away. They also sell elecricity cleaners-filters that may make the buzz go away. First try other outlets in the house to see if it is the problem.
Summary: Having this TV without an HD feed or food cables is a crime so if you don't already, get it.
Pros: It's really big, great picture quality, easy to use menu's, dual HDMI.
Cons: Samsung claims it has a quiet operation which is grossly inaccurate. It's got a loud buzz I'd put on par with a city street light. It can get really annoying really fast. I don't know if other plasmas have the same buzz, but if they don't I'd be willing to pay more to get one without the buzz. To...
