Product Review: Pioneer Elite KURO PRO-950HD 42" Plasma HDTV
19 April 2008
Summary: The bottom line with any television is how its picture measures up against the competition. Let me just say that it won’t take a scientist or engineer to see that the images on the PRO-950HD are superior to many televisions out there. And, they should be considering this television has a MSRP of $2700. The colors were bright, blacks were deep and motion processed without issue – meaning there was no ghosting or blurring of moving images.
Summary: Like its bigger cousin, the Pioneer Elite Kuro is a fantastic TV with one of the best pictures we have seen. At $2500 it is a quite a bit more expensive than a 720p Panasonic, and many of you may wonder is it $1100 better. If you want total control of each input with advanced calibration features (ISF) that produce one of the best pictures we have seen then the Pioneer is the way to go.
