The PioneerPDP-LX5090 is designed with Pure Drive 2HD that offers full digital image processing without numerous intermediate analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversions, which cause undesirable noise effects and decreased video quality. It features Trumotion 100Hz processing system that reduces stutter and flickering over motion-packed images plus increasing the number of frames from 50 frames per second to 100. In terms of sound features, it incorporates SRS WOW HD, SRS (Surround), SRS FOCUS (Audio Orientation), SRS TruBass (Bass Boost) and SRS Definition, along with a total output power of 36Watt providing digital surround sound, plus a tone control and auto volume control. It comes with KURO LINK function along with an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows user to access the main functions of all compatible Pioneer equipment with a single remote control. It also comes with Pioneer’s exclusive Plasma technology ‘Advanced PureCinema’, Picture-in-Picture display, AV Selection (Programmed Picture) and display multi languages of up to 19 languages. With the Pioneer’s Home Gallery (JPEG Picture Viewer), it allows you to relish high resolution images direct from a variety of sources including digital cameras and memory cards such as PC Card Type II, Memory Stick, SD Card, CompactFlash, MMC and SmartMedia, plus it supports a JPEG resolution of 2400-by-1800 (4.3 million) pixels. The device has Dynamic Range Expander, I/O Link.A, SR+ interface, Multiscreen Options (PiP/PaP), Picture-in-Picture Display, auto channel Search, 99 preset channels, Teletext (CEEFAX/FLOF/TOP), plus Teletext Picture and Text (Dual Screen). It runs on a power consumption of 0.3 Watt (standby), typical consumption of up to 420 Watt (operation), plus it comes with AC220-240V, 50/60Hz of power requirements. The device measures at 1.233mm (width), 723mm (height) and 93mm (depth) and it weights in at 33.5kg including stand. Other features include remote control, three HDMIs input, USB 2.0 input that supports JPEG/MP3 playback, one component video in, one RCA AV In 1 (side-in), three Euro-SCART, one Digital optical audio out, one RCA Audio out, one PC input, one Headphone out (side-in), one Subwoofer out (variable) and common interface slot (CA Card).

Bought the Pioneer PDP-LX5090 in December 2008 after many years wanting to upgrade to a plasma from our 28" Bang & Olufsen TV. Managed to get the TV on a special offer that was for one weekend only from an online retailer that was posted all over the net in December and the offer was too good to be missed.
