Plenty of home theater enthusiasts opt to buy a plasma television set over an LCD one because of the sheer ability of plasma TVs to render very deep blacks, lively colors as well as defined details over a wide screen. These are definite musts when watching movies at home, especially on DVD.
Pioneer’s plasma television sets have their own fan base, and the latest releases that the company has on offer have a lot of these fans elated. One of these newest products on Pioneer’s plasma television lineup is the Pioneer PDP-6070HD.
What does Pioneer have in store with the Pioneer PDP-6070HD? According to their product brochure, the Pioneer PDP-6070HD has the following improvements on older models.
• A redesigned deep encased cell structure, which is meant to take brightness and accuracy of image up to a higher level. • A first-surface pure color filter that is supposed to enhance the way the contrast and the color appear on your television screen. • A crystal emissive layer to bring out the deep blacks that viewers love about plasma TVs, not to mention image brightness. • The viewing angle is now 160 degrees without experiencing washing out on colors or messing up the picture.
Because it is an HD TV, the Pioneer PDP-6070HD is best used for viewing HD TV signals. But if you use it with analog or standard definition signals, you are not supposed to have any problems at all, because the Pioneer PDP-6070HD can adequately process it. The Pioneer PDP-6070HD also has a split screen and the picture-in-picture features for those who want it.
Picture-wise, the Pioneer PDP-6070HD can deliver. Does it deliver when it is turned off? The 60-inch flat-panel set has neat and clean lines on its black bezel, so it looks good enough to the eyes whether it is on or off.

Pioneer PDP-6070HD
Reviewer: Cadmuslabslex, digitaltrends.com10 October 2007- Overall 10

One Of The Best Tvs I have ever owned, great picture, no burn in, and believe me I have played hours of XBOX 360 on it. Beautiful enclosure, not big and bulky on the sides or oddly shaped like some large plasmas are. The weight is the only downfall weighing in at close to 200lbs. If your in the market for a 60' HDTV this is the one to get. Read more

The Plasma experience: There was a lot of research involved before making up my mind. After all the time invested, I decided to buy the Pioneer Plasma. Part of my research included the advice of a reputable repair shop owner. I had taken in the burnt TV that the Plasma replaced for repairs. The advice was "If you can afford the extra cost, buy Pioneer". It was the best decision thus far. This plasma as advertised has incredible colors and contrast. At the moment my re... Read more

Which is better Plasma or LCD?
I don't know if size or money is an issue with you but if it is then you might want to check out the 60 inch Pioneer PDP6070HD plasma at Sam's. It's last year's 7th gen model. I picked one up yesterday for a little under $3,000 plus another $300 for a five year extended warranty. For comparison, the cheapest 60 inch plasma Best Buy carries is $5,000 and the Pioneer model that repl...
