Pioneer sets a new standard for flat screen TVs. It is a wonderful TV that has the best picture I have ever seen. Pioneer has made a dedicated effort in reproducing a good picture and it’s has paid off. I don’t believe Pioneer ever lost focus in the process of making the new Kuro series and that is the secret behind the astonishing result. The TV supports 1080p24 and reproduces the lowest blacks I have measured so far. Read more

    • Best picture I have seen, Best blacks measured, Good settings options, 1080p24 support
    • "Out-of-box" settings

Equivalent to the PDP-LX508D, but in its HD Ready version, this plasma displays the same fine qualities: deep blacks, nice colors and fluid images. We loved it! Read more

    • Excellent image quality, Very deep black and well contrasted image, 3 HDMI and 3 SCART, Very complete menus, Extremely fluid image
    • No HD digital tuner, only a standard digital one

Home cinema When it comes to bypassing a trip to the cinema in favour of watching films at home, you're going to need some serious kit. The 508XD mixes the aesthetics needed to make it a viable everyday television with the image quality of a high-end installation. With a starting price of £2,700, the 508XD clearly costs a premium over most of its rivals today. But then sometimes if you want the best, you just have to pay for it. Read more

Features that make this KURO different from the other models in the range are: Intelligent Brightness Control which intelligently controls on-screen brightness so that you get the best picture, regardless of the changing lighting conditions in your room. Turn your screen into a home media gallery, Simply connect your USB memory stick and enjoy your digital photo's onscreen. It's a good way to share your pictures in the best possible format . Look, I’ll be very blunt about this. You only live one life, and you deserve the best. So do whatever it takes to get the finances together and get a Pioneer 50″ plasma. Don’t settle for anything less and then regret it afterwards. After a year the 508XD still blows me away. And that’s just with the magnificent freeview picture. It really does kick the competition into touch. Actually, that’s a lie. There *is* no competition. Read more
