Summary: Bought this 2 years ago for around $600. For 1080p, the picture quality wasn't that great. Now, at 2 years, the backlight inverter is dead - have sound, but no picture, unless you shine a light on the screen.
Summary: I bought this TV in December 2009 at Walmart - back then I thought it was a steat at $628. Bought the 2 year extended warranty and took the unit home. Hooked it up to my Xbox, Samsung Bluray, HTPC and cable, and fired it up. I was pleasantly surprised at the brightness and clarity of the picture.
Summary: I have had this TV a little over a year. A couple of days ago, it went off on its own and I thought it was a fluke because the TV came right back on with the remote and worked fine. Then the next day, I sat down to watch a movie and it would not turn on.
Summary: Bought at Target in Aug. 2009. I'm basically happy with it. Last summer, it would not turn on completely, freezing at the initial Philips screen. A call to customer service got me an update on a thumb drive, and I haven't had any problem like that again. I'm a little confused on settings though.
Summary: Amazon has to take this TV down!!! It is a TV that WILL I repeat WILL Malfunction after a year!!! How ironic since the warranty ends in a year. I refused to write a review until I spoke with the people at Phillips and heard it from their mouths.

Summary: This LCD had decent screen quality and at the time (2 years ago) was a deal at $1200...but now it doesn't work...no customer service and a $600 repair bill with no quarantee something else won't go wrong, I will just be buying a new LCD, definately NOT a Phillips.
Summary: Im not sure why there are negative reviews, this TV works and looks great and is a nice addition to anyones living room. My living room gets the afternoon sun and i still can see this TV clearly
Pros: Nice bright colors Remote control is simple and has all functions available (not cheep) Base is very good. 4 small screws and metal base under plastic outer shell. Speaks have great sound because they point down, and are under the screen out of view. The sound bounces off the TV stand and fills t...
Cons: Changing channels from an HD channel to regular channel seems a bit slow, but that could be my cable box too.
Summary: I'd give it no eggs if i could. Philips had 3 tries to make a good tv for me and they failed all 3 times. I'll never touch a philips product again.
Pros: Its a tv.
Cons: There was a loud buzzing sound from my tv, so i called Philips. After several hours of running in circles they offered to send me a replacement. I got the replacement and it had the same problem. I called them up and they wanted to send me another replacement. The 2nd replacement buzzes just as l...
