Philips is one of the biggest names in the technology world today. The brand equity carried by the Philips product is commendable. Philips 42PF9831 LCD TV is no exception. It offers improved picture quality and higher resolutions. The Digital Nature Motion technology (DNM) and Pixel Plus 3 HD are the added features in this model. The DNM has been successful in eliminating motion jitters. Philips may be expensive but it is worth buying. Like every other piece of technology, this TV set has a down side as well. Aesthetically, it is not that appealing as it looks massive. Similarly, the Pixel Plus element in this TV set is not able to produce a dramatic difference from sets which don’t have it. Philips need to improve the appearance if such sets.

The reviews tell us that the Ambilight feature is liked by most of the viewers as its effect is relaxing. Based on standard tests it can be easily identified that Philips 42PF9831 LCD TV has almost perfect colours, contrast and sharpness. There is almost no image noise. The images are crisp which give add an unnatural look to the displayed images. Also, it does not work well when connected to a PC. An other attractive point is that Philips 42PF9831 LCD TV has a built in media player. USB stick or external USB hard drive can be connected and many kinds of files can be run on it. More than 500 GB external hard drive is available which gets such positive reviews for the set. It also has a built-in analogue television tuner in it. There are more than one attractive features in this set which can make it a perfect choice for you. If you are bored of viewing DVDs with jitters and want to eliminate them then this is your model. Good picture quality in standard and high definition and the sharp and crisp image can buy you in. The ambilight feature is an added attraction to the total package. The DNM and Pixel Plus 3 HD are also some of the very attractive features which can guarantee the set to become a hard selling one.
