Summary: Great looking television picture is sharp, but from the side picture deteriorate slightly. Features are OK 120hz motion & web TV with Netflix. Sound is better than other sets I had Vizio, Samsung. Connection's are there with 4 HDMI, PC, & component. One thing I wish it had was RCA audio output only has digital audio out. LCD has a nice frame with a protective bezel & a swivel stand made of metal. Great TV if you can get one under $350 go for it.

Summary: The box promised that the TV was WIFI capable and the settings menu allows one to select WIFI as the network type, but the supplied manual makes no mention at all about WIFI and when one attempts to specify WIFI it returns an error message that it can't find any network. Looking around the web found that there was supposed to be a dongle included in the box (not mine however) which is needed to use WIFI. A call to Philips customer support and they sent it to me.
Summary: After reading previous reviews, I have to say I Did Not buy this set for it's wireless capabilities. I bought it as both a TV and a computer monitor. My computer, having a 4gb video card and a fantastic HD sound card. This television rocks, having it running through my computer via the digital optical connection. I also have it hardwired using Ethernet connection.
4 stars for the TV ... would have been 5 stars if the WiFi worked

Summary: I bought this TV (40pfl7705dv) from Sam's Club for $578 (great deal compared to what it is selling for on Amazon) ... because it fit my budget and had Flat Screen TV features I was looking for. We switched from an old traditional TV to this flat screen ... so we were blown away by the picture quality (especially HD). So far we love the TV, no complaints other than the WiFi.
Summary: My Girl friend bought this tv the other day as a replacement for her samsung 40 lcd after a burglery we shopped and looked at several models and it came down to this another samsung for more $ a LG for more.she considered some lesser brands bit for the money this was it . read the reviews on the wifi issues and after some troubleshooting and testing i called phillips and they told me that the tv is newer and only works with wpa not wep we called verizon and they changed...
Summary: I've had this TV for 3 weeks and it is an awesome HDTV at any price. The firmware download from Philips' website (...) is a Very Necessary thing to do, but it's a breeze! Just download the upgrade file onto a flash drive and stick the flashdrive into the TV's USB port . Then go to the SETUP menu on the TV and choose "Upgrade", and you're done!
