Summary: I purchased TV on August 3, 2011. At first, I thought it had problems but it turned out that my cable company had the problem. When cable company repaired their equipment, the TV showed great. Media Connect is not as good as I thought it would be. Very long connection time to get the laptop and TV to work together, in fact, I had to download the Media Connect each time I tried to use the program.
Summary: Im in love with this TV! 4 HDMI ports!! 240hz!! Built in wifi netflix!! Beautiful screen quality! I spent hours drooling over my bluray collection when i brought it home!! I got it this weekend but i wanted to let people know that i picked it up at my local Costco in Westlake CA for $550.00 plus tax. It ended up being a grand total of $610.00 out the door with a 90 day return policy and an extended 2 year warranty.
Summary: note- i bought my TV at Costco, so this review is specific to ones bought there...the model number is the same, but i'm not certain it's the same TV. The price was more than 170$ less there than shown today on Amazon- so maybe I got a 'close-out' model or something. Cable card slot: Nope...none.
Summary: Purchased this on 2/20/11. Well, I was probably the last person in the U.S. to get a flat screen, but it was worth the wait. Having a TV with built-in wireless is the stuff. I do wish there were a few more apps, but I didn't have any before. Love streaming NetFlix vs waiting on DVDs. Set-up was stupid easy and the many complaints of the rermote didn't seem like that big of a deal to me. It's no more harder than any other remote to me.
Summary: The picture is awesome, and the features are amazing. But, some of the apps don't quite work right and the netflix app is very limited and slow. The media connect feature is very cool, but you need one heck of a computer to use it to it's fullest. If they do some software updates soon, this might be the best tv for the money.
Summary: I bought it for $650 a month ago and I see the price now to be over $800 - wtf??? Anyway, the TV is well worth for the money, my first HDTV ever. Netflix and Vudu are great to watch directly from your TV - you may not even pay for cable with todays prices. I played blu-ray movie on and to be honest the quality is just amazing - it makes you feet that the action is really right in front of you, in your room.
Summary: I did a lot of comparison shopping and decided to go in for this set finally because of the the Net TV feature and the price ([...] from BJ's). While setting up the wireless network, for some reason I would not set up the connectivity with "WEP" security. Spoke to Philips tech support who suggested I try WPA2 - which is more secure anyways. Now I can see streaming Netflix movies on this TV without needing a media box of some kind,XBox, or a blue-ray player.
Summary: THE PICTURE IS GREAT BUT THE TV HAS HAD ISSUES, I KNOW SOMETIMES THERE NOT ALL PERFECT ,I AM WAITING FOR A NEW ONE. I CAN'T SAY I WAS THRILLED WHEN IT BROKE DOWN ESPECIALLY SINCE IT WAS ALREADY MOUNTED ON THE WALL AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR IN HOME SERVICE WILL NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL YEAR TWO..BEWARE OF THIS FACT,BUT THE PICTURE IS REALLY NICE AND I HOPE THE NEXT ONE I GET WILL GIVE ME YEARS OF ENJOYMENT AND NO HEADACHES.
Summary: its been a couple of months now and the tv is still great as when we first got it. we had to tweak the settings a bit because it was a little dark. after you turn off a setting... other reviewers mentioned it too but i forgot the name of it... the picture was clearer. i love watching netflix on it too but the volume is odd there as compared to watching tv.
Summary: Finally decided to make the jump to HDTV. I checked many different brands and models. I gave the Philips the edge because of the past history I have using Philips products. I have had this tv now for slightly more than one month. It was very easy to set up. I was amazed at the sound that comes from this unit. While no home theater system, the four speakers provide decent stereo sound and volume.
