Summary: Bought this product in April 2007. Within 2 months, the main board failed and was replaced under warranty. In March 2009, I got what is starting to become known as the red blinks of death. The TV wouldn't turn on. The tech told me that Philips manufactured the device with a resistor of the wrong resistance and they are aware of the issue but won't issue a recall or offer to repair. With parts and labor, this cost several hundred dollars. I won't buy another Philips TV.
Summary: I paid $1200 for this TV in 12.2006 & as of 02.02.09 it is nothing more than a very heavy paper weight. It gets 1 star for the Ambilight but even that is generous. Please don't make the same mistake..buy something else!
Summary: I purchased this TV in Dec 06 at a retail store. Like many other's I have had the same problem. The TV will no longer power on and shows a flashing red light. The unit wasn't used heavily but still managed to give up after the warranty, I was lucky enough to purchase the extended warranty but go figure seems like a lot of these units fail from other reviews. When I searched it is true, this is a common problem.
Summary: I bought this TV back in December of 06 and it just died March 08! I was watching TV one night and the next day it would not turn on, I would just get a flashing red light. I am told its a faulty signal board or power board. I see other people have had the same problem after the same amount of time of owning the TV. I am not sure if its even worth repairing.....I would not recommend this TV.
Summary: We bought this LCD from a large retailer. Picture is fantastic, ambilight is beautiful. Reliability terrible. After 12 months & 2 weeks (of course after manufacturers warranty expired) it failed. TV will not turn on and picture would go black while it was on. Controls wouldn't work either on remote or physically on TV. To turn it off we had to unplug it. TV has extended warranty but we have been waiting for parts for over a month.
Summary: We bought the Philips 37" LCD TV in August of 06. It stopped working and would not turn on in November of 07. We took the TV to the Philips recommended repair shop. Their first repair did not fix the problem and there it sits waiting for parts. We are very unhappy and will never purchase another Philips product!
Summary: I purchased this tv for $1,300.00 on Dec. 27, 2006, on Feb. 28, 2007 it would no longer turn on. I have contacted Philips and they have been completely unsatisfactory. I have since googled and found hundreds of consumers who have had the same problem and recieved horrible customer service. I expect a brand new tv to last longer than 2 months.I don't know how they manage to stay in business with this type of product and lack of customer service.
Summary: I bought this TV as a gift for my parents 50th anniversary, initially the TV works well but after about a month, it would not turn on anymore. I talked with Philips and they said the video board is damaged due to overheating. Philips' service guy told me this problem right away, which tells me that they have seen this problem more than a few times. I am very disappointed.
