This television model has the integrated digital tuner for ATSC/Qam that is able to receive digital terrestrial TV for viewing or recording without the need for extra cables or set top box. It is able to display 720p and 1080i signals at 50 and 60 Hz.

The Philips 32PFL9632D TV has the Pixel Plus 3 HD that can give smooth depiction of motion and vivid color expression on the widescreen. It is equipped with a digital noise reduction feature that can eliminate unwanted noise which goes together with fast moving images on the widescreen. The Philips Digital Natural Motion is responsible for the elimination of unnecessary motion like the juddering movements very often seen in recorded movie materials like DVD. This model comes with the Virtual Dolby surround sound system.
