Summary: I gave this product a 4 star rating as it's a good TV especially as it's a refurbishment & not a new one, but this does not matter to me as it's a good clear picture & is HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview. As far as I'm concerned there nothing to dislike about this TV & everything to like. I'd recommend this TV to anyone thinking of replacing their present one but do not want to spend a fortune on a brand new one.

Excerpt: "...quality sound. The well-known Philips logo is located in the centre of the lower section and is etched in chrome lettering. On the right hand lower side there are a few images and words, which inform us that this is a Flat TV, HD Ready and Pixel Plus HD. What I particularly favour with this model and this is not something that hubby has considered, but the television is extremely easy to clean as it stands on a cylindrical chrome pedestal, which ...
A high quality LCD television from Philips except for the loud clicks!

Excerpt: When flat screen televisions were first introduced I was somewhat envious of those friends who had purchased them, but unfortunately, their extortionate price tag was well out of my price range. However, approximately eighteen months ago we had no choice but to carry out research for a new television as our old fashioned box-type packed in.
Excerpt: I have owned a Philips 32PDL5522 LCD television for over 2.5 yrs and am very pleased with my choice. It was my very first HD television and I haven't regretted my choice. It is just the right size for a medium sized room, however if you have a large living room you might want to buy a larger model. The quality of pictures is much better than many other brands I tested and offer a better value for money.
Excerpt: Owned TV 18 months. When the retuning for digital in October 2009 ran into all sorts of problems. Would not retune correctly using remote control. Phoned Phillips. Directed to find factory settings using menu button on side of TV. Worked for 24 hours. Now lost picture and the buttons on side of TV not functioning. No picture only sound. TV is a complete write-off after only a short period and average use.
Excerpt: I have owned my Phillips LCD 32PFL5522 for a little over a year now and I must say I have been very impressed with it. I had concerns about the screen size not being large enough with so many 37", 40" and larger out on the market but for the average room size, it looks perfect. The sleak gloss black surround looks very good, however, can reflect the sun into your eyes at certain angles.
Excerpt: "===Overview=== This tv has a great picture and the sound is kind of what you might expect for a low cost television. It picks up fringe digital reception pretty well and I'm pleased I bought it. If I had the chance to give it back and buy something else for about the same price then I wouldn't as it does the job admirably. Why didn't i rate it excellent then? Well, I suppose it could have better sound. If it had better sound I'd rate it as excellent.
Pros: Good picture, easy to use, good value
Cons: It's a good value set so the sound could be better, and the screen could be bigger .
Summary: The Philips 32PFL5522D is an excellent TV at a very reasonable price. Worked right out of the box, Freeview setup was a breeze and has been working impeccably since I bought it about 9 or 10 months ago. I also use it connected to my laptop from time to time and it works very well for that too. The audio might not be the best ever which is why I dropped one star off an otherwise impeccable tv. UPDATE: 2013. It still works very well!
Summary: I purchased this tv a couple of months ago and its been brilliant the pictures very good the sounds good and my ps3 in 1080p looks stunning, its easy to switch from the av things on the controller (ie selecting hdmi socket 1 or hdmi socket 2) the remote is ok but the back of it has broken, the tv can be wall mounted however ive decided to just put it on the table, the stand looks amazing. all round very good tv.
Summary: I purchased one of these TV's a couple of months ago, we actually only wanted a 26" for the bedroom and ended up with 32" for the same price - one major benefit I found immediately is I can still see the TV without my glasses on and the sound is terrific plus with built in freeview no additional remote controls to loose in the bedcovers. I would recommend this set wholeheartedly for anywhere around the house.
