Summary: I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A LARGE FLAT SCREEN TV AND WHILST I WAS GOING THRU EBAY LOOKING FOR A NEW TV I CAME ACROSS THIS EXCEPTIONAL VALUE. IT FIT ALL MY CRITERIA WHICH WAS LARGER THAN 27 INCH, VALUE (UNDER $200) AND OF COURSE LCD FLAT SCREEN. WITH THAT SAID I MUST CONCLUDE IT ALL BY STATING EXCEPTIONAL VALUE ON AN EXCEPTIONAL ITEM.
Summary: I paid somewhat less than the current advertised price, and for that it was a bargain. Perfect replacement for the 27" we bought back in 2004 which suddenly stopped working. If I get 9 years of use out of this one I will be happy indeed. There's not that much to say about flat screen tvs at this size and price - they all seem to look similar to me, and a little tweaking of the settings allows you to get it looking how you want.
Cons: Bought 2 of these on the same day and originally only had a single device hooked to each on HDMI port 1. 2 years later bought identical 2nd devices for each and discovered that none of the other report worked (even tried switching original working device to the other ports with failure). After two days online with Phillips support, they offered to send out a service man for $150 per TV. Would not own up to this being a manufacture's defect due to being beyond the warr...
Summary: Don't be fooled from all the good reviews like I was. This tv picture does NOT stand up to time.I ownd two of em and both has same problem about four months in and by seven months its damn near busted.lack of sharpness, wavy lines and static lines among other issues all formed in both
Summary: Picture was great, audio was okay. Worked for just under 1 year, then the picture went out. "Known problem". Hrmmm. Philips has been great about the return (after 3 weeks, and a 1 week delay because I printed the "wrong" invoice), and I'm awaiting the replacement, but this was a huge hassle.
