Summary: Good design and ease of you, but...... Horrid artifacting and blur on fast moving things like sports and movies. Very hard to get around that. Usually love Philips products but this falls very short of my expectations.
Summary: Bought the TV and used it for about 100 hours the first year, then it wouldn't turn on as expected, I had to press the power button over 10 times to get it on, took it to a repair shop and got charged $150 to replace the power main board, had it on for about 20 hours and the same thing happened now the repair shop wants to charge me another $150 to replace the same thing. I see other customers writing about the same problem, this must be a manufacturing flaw.
Excerpt: I have had My Philips Flat Screen TV for a week. It was Very EASY to set My preferences. Hooking it up was Simple. I called the SERVICE/Warranty people to check for their Willingness to Help, and to register for the Warranty. Believe me, I have Learned that the attitude of any Companys Phone staff, Quickly reveals the Future and worth of a Warranty. I am fully satisfied with these People. I will Purchase the extended Warranty, directly From Philips.
Excerpt: We bought this television during tax season in early 2010 and absolutely love it! This was my husband's little gift to himself. We use it for our children's shows along with Netflix. The high definition channels look really great on our screen. This television has also been very easy to clean. My husband bought the Philips television screen cleaner that goes along with this set and it has lasted us a long time. Even with crayon on there, it came off very easily.
Excerpt: When it came time to finally buy a flat screen, I had no idea where to start but I settled on the Philips 32PFL3505D 32 inch LCD tv and it was the best decision ever! The tv is perfect for the bedroom and even for the living the room. The quality of the picture is great, and the HD channels are incredible. We've had this tv for about 2 years, and have never had a problem with it.
Summary: We purchased this TV in Feb 2011, and in Jun 2012 it began having difficulties turning on. When we turn it on it shuts off instantly, and we have to start it about 20 times before it finally stays on. I called Philips and followed tech support's instructions to download a software update and install it on the TV. It didn't fix the problem, and when I called Philips back, because the TV was over 1 year old their advice was to take it to a repair shop.
Summary: I bought this TV because I have had good luck with my older Philips TV and have loved this one, but all of the sudden it turned itself off and now when I turn it on it just shuts itself off in a few seconds. It is just out of warranty (I purchased an extended warranty). I paid $349. for the TV. I contacted an authorized Philips service center and was told it would cost $70. to $90. to look at the TV with repair costs added so I decided to buy a new TV (not Philips).
Summary: The sound just fades in and out. The picture will freeze for a split second and you might loose a word or two from the broadcaster or the actor. It is very annoying. This is our main tv but I am going to have to replace it. I have had this TV for a little over a year and it cannot be returned. I think I will buy a tv from Costco at least they give you a 2 year guarantee.
Summary: I'll try to make a long story short. I bought this tv in March of 2011. It did not have the picture quality I hoped for but I could live with it. In January of 2012 it got so I would have to turn it on about 15 time before it would stay on. I called customer support at Phillips and had to email them a copy of the receipt because they said it was not in warranty. After a week they decided it was warranty and sent me another tv (wich took over 2weeks).
