Summary: The camera is great but the instructions leave a lot unanswered. They work perfect with the program Security-Spy on the Mac with excellent quality pictures both in video and received through email. I read that someone could not find a program to record the live feed from the camera, Security-Spy seems to work great for this on the Mac. Router ports forwarded to the camera via your router with a static IP worked the best for me.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Exceeded expectations, good value with features
Summary: Although I did recommend it to a friend, it was only because he was only using it to monitor a location. The documentation is minimal and the user interface is confusing especially when setting up the e-mail notification and network access.
Pros: simply to set up for basic use
Cons: Difficult to use, Poor documentation, difficult to configure
Summary: SUMMARY: Good for watching live video or reviewing recorded still screenshots. Does NOT record in a usuable video format. Haven't been able to view pictures after downloading them from the camera. Sensor and relay features seem to be simple to use and very powerful. Documentation is useless so you'll need to be knowledgeable enough to figure things out on your own. REVIEW: I bought the BL-C230A to monitor pet activity. The camera itself is a wonderful unit.
Pros: Compact, Durable, great features
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Difficult to use, Poor documentation
Summary: Nice plasma. These cams are supposed to work with the TV. Yet no one knows what a second generation plasma is these days. Not even panasonic. Talked with three different people. No one has the whole picture. To think this cam loses it at night is absurd. Why spend this kind of money. You can get a four cam system for another bill. Besides; is it wise to let a corporation have access to your feeds.
Summary: Easy to set up using static IP for the camera. Panasonic viewnetcam dynamic DNS not reliable at all. Frequently, I cannot access the camera via Internet. Internet based live video frame rate is low and therefore live quality is not to my satisfaction. Audio is ok.
Summary: Decent picture. Too bad that is useless at night. Installation was a bit confusing since in my router appears 2 devices for the same camera, (One IP is for the wireless module itself). My wireless 2.4 GHz phone wins every time is used, so I can't see the camera and use the phone at the same time... Besides that, the camera works fine...
Summary: This camera is worth the money. We have a few different cameras inside and outside the house that work just fine, but the additional functions that come with this camera for $200 less is a good deal. The quality of the viewing is average (when lit) and in the dark (below average--TOOOO grainy). The real time viewing is above average, but when attempting to view it on-line (if your network is SECURED), it's somewhat difficult to set up.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Convenient
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, low light viewing
Summary: I purchased this network camera mainly to watch my newborn child with babysitters. It works perfectly. Its very quiet and easy to use. My few complaints are that there is no mac software for the initial setup so I had to call Panasonic tech support, I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes doing a manual setup on my mac. Once setup it works perfect in Safari and my iPhone.
