  1. Panasonic TH-50PX80U Review

Panasonic plasmas are known for their rich, realistic color. The TH-50PX80U can reproduce over 4,000 shades of gradation each for red, green, and blue. That yields a nearly infinite color palette of over 68 billion shades, to virtually eliminate the common picture distortion known as "false contouring." It causes the transitions between different shades of the same color to appear too sharp and abrupt, giving scenes an artificially layered look. Images on this TV look... Read more

This television is great! I love it. It looks awesome in my living room - nice and big - fills the space perfectly. The only drawbacks I have seen so far is the way the sun from my window reflects from it and the limited connection options. There are only two "old-school" AV connections (video, audio left, audio right)- and only one in the back. The other is in the front, but using that is ugly with wires hanging from the bottom of the screen. However, there are a couple... Read more

This TV looks great right out of the box and works well with my other Panasonic equipment. The manuals can be a little confusing as they don't go into great detail about advanced set up or what the picture modes are best for. A little bit of experimentation and a home theater set up disc such as the Avia will have this TV looking better than what you see in the show room. Blue Ray movies are jaw dropping on this set especially if using an HDMI A/V receiver for your... Read more

My Panasonic plasma 50 Inch is the easiest TV I've ever used in my entire life. It has simple features such as digital tv selections on the remote, access to my pictures thru my smartcard reader. The reader is a little slow but the pictures come out absolutely beautiful. I have an S-Video output that works wonderfully and all's I had to do is plug in my laptop to my s-video or my HDMI cable to the tv, and it hdisplays on the screen with-in seconds. Please note: you must... Read more

I can't say enough about Newegg! I've purchased lots of computer related items from them, but this is the 1st major purchase. I placed my order mid day on a Friday, and I received a call from the shipper on the next Monday to schedule my delivery! They arrived between the hours they stated on Tuesday, and brought the TV up to my second floor apartment. I did a look around for any visible damage (of which there was none), and signed my delivery confirmation. By far this... Read more
