  1. Great TV but one major problem - Will not accept signal from a Region free PAL DVD

Great TV but one major problem, it cannot accept a signal from a region free DVD player if it is playing a PAL DVD but it will if it is a NTSC DVD. Panasonic must have put some sort of "blocking mechanism" in this set on purpose. They would have to go out of there way to do this. Does anyone have any ideas for a solution for this? Thank you. This is a great tv for the price. I bought a HD antenna at Walmart and I have about 10 channels with 5 in HD. It is funny, but the 1080p channels look noticeably better than the 720p, even though this is a 720p TV. It was super easy to setup and the remote is very straightforward. Excellent buy for under $1000. I have yet to watch an HD movie on it, but I don't see a noticeable difference between an 1080p and this TV. Read more

This television is great! I love it. It looks awesome in my living room - nice and big - fills the space perfectly. The only drawbacks I have seen so far is the way the sun from my window reflects from it and the limited connection options. There are only two "old-school" AV connections (video, audio left, audio right)- and only one in the back. The other is in the front, but using that is ugly with wires hanging from the bottom of the screen. Read more

Plasma is superior to LCD in blacks, picture and price. I have a major name brand LCD that costs twice as much and doesn't stand up to this tv in any catagory except it's bigger 52". Don't be afraid of the burnin because if you use common sense and read the manual you'll know what not to do for the first 100 hours. There's only one other brand of plasma that looks better and it's 2 to 2 1/2 times more expensive. Awesome tv. Read more

    • Blacks are fantastic. Colors are vibrant. TV has a very nice look to it with a steel backing. Panasonic has a 2% defective rate. The life of this plasma is rated at 10...
    • Only 2 HDMI connections with one in the front. Really a non-issue for me but some will complain.
  5. Stunning right out of the box

This TV looks great right out of the box and works well with my other Panasonic equipment. The manuals can be a little confusing as they don't go into great detail about advanced set up or what the picture modes are best for. A little bit of experimentation and a home theater set up disc such as the Avia will have this TV looking better than what you see in the show room. Read more
