The bottom line: Although it requires more than a few picture quality trade-offs, the Panasonic TC-P50X1 delivers the best black-levels-to-dollars ratio of any HDTV we've tested. Read more

  4. Panasonic TC-P50X1 Review

    25 January 2010

The main attraction of Panasonic TC-P50X1 is, no doubt, the price, a thing that comes naturally, as this 50 inch plasma TV is an entry level product, without fancy features. While you cannot compare this Panasonic plasma TV with top of the line models, rest assured that the image quality is more than what you pay for. One would expect Panasonic TC-P50X1 to perform in the same way as a C1 model, because they share the same 720p resolution, but this is not the case; the X1... Read more

For the price I paid, there is no better bargain out there. This 720p Plasma is A-OK, great performance. Speakers suck, but you aren't really paying for those anyways. I'd rather save a 150-250 on my TV because I have a sound system at home already. I don't need to rely on the TV for it. I bought this for 700.00 (that INCLUDES tax and shipping) from 6th avenue electronics on 11 27 09. It's been hovering between 750-850 for 6 months. As soon as I saw it dip below 725 I... Read more

Bought this on sale at [$]. Would love an LED, but this is incredible picture quality and a great looking set. I have had a Sony 1080p 60 inch for 3 years and, while I love that set, this puts it to shame as far as value and quality. Wall mounting makes it spectacular. Can't believe this cost $2,800 just three years ago. Read more

Great product at a really great price -- I got it on sale for $699.99 from Best Buy about a month or so ago, Amazon.com seems to be around the same. We went from a 27" TV from the 80s to this one -- what a difference! TV is HUGE, it didn't fit in my '09 Honda Civic sedan laid down or standing up. Excellent picture while viewing HD, can be crappy with SD but that's most HDTVs. Can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p -- I tried in the store with a 1080p 42"... Read more

SHUT UP ABOUT THE SPEAKERS ITS A TV not a soundsystem.. Do you cry about your monitor or laptop speakers too? try to fit a 2 story speaker set into a custom laptop and im sure you could sell thousands PC games dont support thier own anti image retention plus they run frames rates around 30. bioshock 2 running at 60 frames a second must make it flip out and the 1 min image retention is not sufficient for that amount of frames apparently. Image ghost went away after an... Read more
