Summary: I purchased this TV in August 2011. It worked well until about two weeks ago when, without warning, half the screen disappeared and will not work again. Despite the adverts from Panasonic that their TVs last '100,000s of hours', Panasonic's only response is to give me a phone number of an engineer who lives locally who can try and fix it. Very disappointing.
Summary: I purchased this set on Amazon marketplace in March 2013 to replace my 2007 Panny plasma 37" set. I was a little apprehensive about some of the reports concerning unwanted colours on the display etc etc, but the seller assured me that everything was working perfectly. I am absolutely delighted with the 42VT30 - the screen colours are vibrant, but totally natural, and the set is a beautifully slim and elegant piece of equipment.
Summary: We've had this TV (TX-P42VT30B)for 4 weeks now. Total use has to be in the region of 130 hours. There is absolutely no sign of image retention and no sign of the green blob problem, both of which have been mentioned in relation to the Panasonic Plasma range. The picture is fantastic given a DVD, Freeview HD or Blue-Ray source. I am unconvinced by the standard definition picture, but then again, most flat screen TVs I have seen seem to make a mess of SD.
Summary: This is an excellent 3D plasma television, and I can recommend it 100%. Overall a reallly good set and if your toying with the idea of upgrading from an older model from any manufacturer, then go for it,you will not be disappointed
Summary: I can't really recommend this television too you enough. The Panasonic Viera TX-P42VT30B Plasma is by far the very best television that I've ever seen. The blacks are so intensely inky, the colours, brightness and acuity of the images that compose a single frame at one time is a matchless tableau of vivid verisimilitude. I watch mine in HD principally through Freesat, which renders a picture that is striking in its detail.
Summary: This TV is absoloutley amazing, you will be blown away with the colours. I was sceptical about the whole 3D TV but it's fantastic. Better than the cinema by far with the use of the active 3D glasses. The only thing I wish that came with TV is a cloth to clean her with. I couldn't believe the amount of cables and connectors that come with the set. Connecting to my my network was simple and straight forward for the viera cast.
Summary: Bit of a TV buff, so this may go on a bit- I have had this TV for about two months now, still bedding in so can only presume the picture will change in the future, if it is possible to get any better that is. I have the TV connected to a Pionner LX91 Blue Ray Player and a Pionner amp and I watch TV through a virgin TIvo box on HD channels.
Pros: Picture is truly amazing. The sharpness is unbelievable and the gamma is corrected giving it a deeper feel, TV sounds good for normal TV viewing, Black levels are very good, Build quality is outstanding, TV Tuner looks very good, Functions that it has are numerous and easy to use, Remote control is excellent
Cons: Still hear the ticking noise, but goes when the tv is fully warmed up. Still annoys me that the cables stick ou the side
Summary: didn't buy this Panasonic TX-P42VT30B from Amazon but had it delivered & set it up myself, one or two things I haven't sorted out yet like facebook etc (wireless dongle included connected easily)once I'd set up the hd on virgin I was blown away by the clarity & the colours which are rich & very natural, everybody who've seen it so far have been gobsmacked!
