Summary: the picture is pretty good apart from the blacks flashing as described in some reviews, which, once you know about it, really bugs you when you see it happening (me at least), but, the sound from the built in speakers is just AWFUL, if you plan on using this TV without a home cinema system running the sound forget about it, it's unwatchable, i'm shocked that a quality brand like panasonic can deem the audio system in these units to be acceptable.
Summary: Picture is fine and sound from built-in speakers is quite sufficient for a small room. Viera Connect is a bit of a disappointment though. iPlayer is good, but it's good on every TV these days. NetFlix is OK, too. But YouTube is extremely clumsy with the remote. That's about it, there aren't any other apps to speak of. Would be nice if they could bring LoveFilm or other subscription services aboard and other TV catchup services. How hard can it be?
Summary: Ordered the TX-L42E5B on a Friday at 15:30 and it was delivered by Amazon on the Saturday at 11:30. Super service! I found the colour, out of the box, to be too saturated, glaring, vivid, almost cartoonish, giving a soft texture to most images, SD being the worst, HD better but not great. Didn't get a chance to fully explore the settings as the set failed after 6 days.
