Great TV, pitty about the ergonomics.

  • Summary: As with their DMR-EX77 the product has excellent performance, and I heartily agree with most of the other reviewers. However both are let down by the ergonomics of the on screen menus. Why does the sound have to cut out when you select the program guide? Why is a good area of this guide taken up by adverts for some junk or other I'm not the slightest bit interested in, leaving the guide itself cramped. If I want adverts I'll watch channel 5!

make sure your next tv is the RIGHT tv

  • Excerpt: This is an outstanding tv to say the least when it first came out. As a cautious buyer I almost always check Which?.co.uk to see which is the best product. They are not always right, but when this Tv was top of their charts i decided that it would be worth the price to buy one, and wow, what a great tv it is. The 1080p is a fairly visible difference compared to 720p quality and really helps to enjoy the viewing experience.

Panasonic TX-32LZD80 - Everything you need for a modest gawp.

  • Excerpt: I've had this TV for a little over a year now and so far it's been very good. But this is the first large-ish LCD set I've owned, so make of that what you will (I initially felt like one of the apes looking at the black monolith at the start of 2001 A Space Odyssey...). When I watched it alongside the banks of other TVs in John Lewis the picture quality was clearly better than the cheaper brands/models and I've not been disappointed.
  • Pros: Reliable and stylish
  • Cons: Not the cheapest; poor remote control response .

Panasonic TX 32LZD80

  • Summary: Overall this is a good TV. The set up was quick and easy and the picture quality is good. The contrast is effective and black appears dark (which were told can be a problem with LCD TVs). The only drawback is the remote control which is too long and awkward to use. It is not well balanced and there is a slight delay with the TV responding to remote input. The freeview works well and the picture quality for this is better than expected.

A fine product

  • Summary: Sound quality is much better than any other flat screen tvs I have seen and picture quality is top drawer. My only reservation is that there are not more features such as picture in picture. Otherwise this is a top rate tv and I would recommend to anyone!

Super Sharp Picture - the Panasonic TX-32LZD80

bobbacon9..., Ciao
13 February 2009
  • Excerpt: Bought from John Lewis for £699 in summer 2008 this 32" Panasonic LCD television was bought by my father for our kitchen/dining room. Up to now I have been nothing but impressed with the quality of the screen, though the Freeview signal is terrible for a screen this size. When delivered the box was snug, though still exceptionally big due to the size of the television in the first place, but there were no issues in getting it out and placing it on the stand as there were...
  • Pros: Excellent picture quality with the best remote I've seen in any television .
  • Cons: Freeview really doesn't do this television justice; a high - definition signal is a must .

Good picture, otherwise no great shakes

D. Stokes "Davy", Amazon
12 January 2009
  • Summary: Excellent picture although I am not sure that 1080p resolution can really be appreciated on a just 32" screen. I used unsharpen options to make it more natural. Have had problems with sound; - the RCA sound output level cannot be controlled from the remote so cannot be used to drive powered speakers - large sound level differences when changing from analogue/digital and even between analogue channels. The remote is not very easy to read or intuitive.

Great TV, bit pricy.

  • Excerpt: Really like this TV, have bought it recently and very impressed. The design looks really cool and it draws attention to itself. It is a flat screen, as I have come to accept from my TVs now, long gone are the days when I would settle for a bulky TV that you have to re-arange half the room to accomodate for, and so I made the change from plasma to LCD. Which brings be on to this TV.

Awesome

Amazon Customer "gipsymagpie", Amazon

  • Summary: The picture quality is superb, the menus are great, except perhaps that guide plus takes about 4 seconds to come up (grrrr!). But programming recordings only my dvd recorder was a breeze. It does great pictures from every device i've hooked up to it including my Wii via component cable. Nice and sharp, no blurring and great sound. Couldn't ask for more.
