The Panasonic TH-50PX60U is a massive 50-inch high definition plasma television. It comes with a resolution of 1366x768 and a contrast ratio specification of 10,000:1. Due to the demand in the market, Panasonic has introduced a second HDMI connection in the TH-50PX60U. C-NET has ranked this model as a good performer with an excellent price. Once out of the box, the Panasonic TH-50PX60U will start with the bright default picture settings and the color temperature is set at Cool by default. The Panasonic plasmas generally have a cooler default temperature setting as compared to other brands.

Calibration test results have shown that the TH-50PX60U produces true picture quality. If you watch a DVD on the TH-50PX60U then you will get the feel of being in a theater. The picture is larger than life and it will reproduce the flesh tones to perfection. In certain scenes you will be able to witness the crystal-clear High-Definition detail, which makes the Panasonic TH-50PX60U almost unbeatable. Its black levels are the best in the industry. Most televisions have some drawback or the other and the TH-50PX60U’s drawback is that it cannot display Picture-in-Picture. This means that it can support up to eight input sources, but it can’t display more than one source at a time.

The TH-50PX60U audio includes two 10-watt speakers with discernable separation of channels between the highs and lows of bass output. This television comes with a Virtual Surround option but it is ignored most of the time. The Panasonic TH-50PX60U has a front composite video input and a digital card slot input. This model has four modes to adjust regular 4:3 inputs to a widescreen 16:9. The first option is to watch it in the native 4:3 ratio but you can also change to full mode, the zoom mode and the just mode.
