Panasonic TH42PZ800B Plasma Tv Review

keith stout, Unbeatable
3 May 2012
  • Excerpt: I have had this tv for 2 months now, the screen clarity and contrasts are excellent. The auto setup worked without problem and it makes sport and dvd pictures such as movies into another dimension. Add a blu-ray player and hd top box set and this tv is as good as most home owners need to go. At present discounted prices (May 2009) it is really worth a search to find one of the last few sets available. I hope this is helpful.
  • Pros: Picture quality is excellent, sound reasonable for a flat screen by I added a simple home cinema system and it complimented picture quality perfectly.
  • Cons: in football terms than can be ball blurring but not bad enough to be a major problem.

The pick of the Panasonic's

  • Excerpt: After watching this television many times at my friend's house I am more than a little envious. This was one one of the top of the range plasma televisions offered by Panasonic and it definitely fits the billing. This television displays full HD which basically means it does not have to upscale to 1080p which in theory will make for a sharper picture. In addition it is 100 hz which is meant to provide a smoother picture.
  • Pros: Tremendous sound, brilliant picture, deep blacks
  • Cons: None from my perspective

  • Pros: fast response time, sound, stunning HD picture quality
  • Cons: lack of ethernet port and inability to play non AVCHD movies from SD card

  • Excerpt: This plasma is a revelation, after the 200 hours or so burn in period the pictures are simply sublime. Blacks are very deep compared to my old lcd. Contrast and colour make the picture almost 3d. The level of detail in HD is breathtaking you can make out strands of hair and the fabric of clothing.
