Some compromises have been made, and its performance in well-lit rooms isn't quite so hot, but this is still a great screen for the money. Read more
With the rapidly depleting prices of flat-panel televisions in the current climate, 1080p is quickly becoming both a buzz phrase and a necessary technology to common consumers instead of a strictly enthusiast’s tool. The fact that a rash of 32” 1080p sets has hit the market is clear indication of that fact. But the mainstream integration of this new resolution has created a stirring new trend in the panel market, aside with changing economic conditions: the Read more
The PZ80 improves on the performance of the entry level PX80 range and loses little to the step up PZ85 series and as such makes a very interesting proposition. The overall performance of the PZ80 with High Definition as well as Standard Definition makes it, in our opinion, one of the best value flat panel screens available. Read more

Piece of Junk! I bought this Panasonic TH-42PZ80U TV in November 2008 for $1,200. In August of 2010 the main board went out. I called Panasonic and since the warranty was out they were no help. I took it to a local repai shop and paid $316 to have the main board replaced. Today it went out again. So in the past three years I have $1,500 in this TV. Needless to say this is the last Panasonic TV I will ever own. Read more
The picture quality on this TV is so good that it makes real life look fuzzy. I hooked this up to my PS3 running 1080p and when I first played Call of Duty 4 on it, I felt like I should have been debriefed because it looked so real. I have only 3 gripes about it, first is that the design is so basic its boring. Then again, a comparable Bang and Olufsen system would have been 10 times as much. The second gripe is that there is no VGA port. Read more

Glad I bought it. It's really great for watching DVDs picure is razor sharp, without the blotchyness in the shadows like I had with my Sony Bravia LCD TV. Buy it you'll love it too! Cons; It's an energy hog, 573 watts, after an hour you can feel the heat coming of the screen. The shiney frame produces distracting reflections. Read more

It seems to that after researching a lot this TV offers some of the greatest features for the buck. so I'm almost certain that I will be going for this one, but I still do have a question that stuck up and was not clearly answered will I get burn in with plasma? and if yes, how long will be the tv's lifespan before it becomes unbearable? which one is better for gaming LCD or Plasma?
Answered by Bobby 2009-09-08:
Newer plasma TVs have addressed burn-in and reduced the issues of older models. Typical plasma TVs have a life span of 25,000 to 30,000 hours, which equates to about 3 years of 24/7 usage before the TV fades to half the original brightness. I would say LCD is better for
