Summary: Comments about Panasonic TH 42PX75U: PCRush continues to have the best prices I could find on the Internet. My friends all went with LCDTV's. They're very impressive and what not, but I still love my old plasma.
Summary: Comments about Panasonic TH 42PX75U: I love this for gaming because of the HDTV, really nice looking and works great, everyone always asks how I can see them when they can't see me when playing games online
Summary: Comments about Panasonic TH 42PX75U: We were looking to buy a new TV because it was time and because our daughter was having a sleep over and we were hoping that we could entertain the kids with movies and not all over our house!
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Great Picture
Summary: During the 60K hour half-life of this set, it will cost over $1,000 more in electricity (170 W* 60K hrs * $0.1 /1K W-hrs) than an equivalent sized LCD. Contrary to SOME, you CAN tell the difference between 720 and 1080 resolution.
Pros: Price and relative picture quality. Plasmas have better color depth and contrast than LCD.
Cons: Power usage, LOW resolution, lack of digital audio outputs, heat. Plasmas are electricity HOGS. They also reflect more light (from windows, lamps etc.) than lCDs.
Summary: I hear people say they run hot, but mine never gets above warm, and puts out less heat than the 32" CRT that it replaced. I don't know if that is because I run it at half brightness, but I can't say that heat is an issue. I have put my hand on LCD's in the store that run hotter than this one.
Pros: I bought the TH-42PC77U primarily for its anti-glare coating and its slightly higher spec'ed G10 panel. The colors and clarity are nothing short of stunning, and black levels are like midnight in the forest. I run it at half contrast and half brightness and that's plenty bright, and of course the...
Summary: I love my new TV and I have not yet hooked up HD yet, still waiting for Dish Network to send my new HD receiver.
Pros: This TV was more impressive than I was expecting. The picture quality and color is excellent. The stand and setup was easier than I thought. This is the best TV for the money and Newegg is #1.
Cons: None with the TV, but the shipping company that delivered sent an old man by himself with no help, handtruck or ramp to unload the set. He wanted to leave the TV on the street and then my wife had to help him carry the 75 lb TV up to the house. Lets get a clue about delivery service!
Summary: Don't fall for the all the 1080p hype. On a screen less than 50" your eye can't even physically tell a differnce, it is actually impossible due to the make up a human eye. Due a little research and you will see. Also check with your HD provider most only broadcast at 720p or at best 1080i.
Pros: I can't explain just how beautiful this display is. I have friends who purchased LCD televisions and they are disapointed after they watch this set. It is like looking out a window, it's that clear. Simply stunning.
Cons: If I had to pick two things I guess I would have to say that being a plasma disply it is bit of a power hog (to be expected). It draws about 350-400 watts and puts off a good deal of heat. But it is a small price to pay. Second I wish it had a couple more HDMI inputs. It just makes connecting pla...
