Great tv, amazing Plasma color.

  • Summary: Comments about Panasonic TH-42PX60U: Figured I'd give a review since I spent so much time researching this. It seems that Panasonic makes some amazing Plasma tvs. They have pretty much overcome the black and red color issues. I purchased their 50" model and have never been so impressed from a Plasma before, even more so than other comparable lcdtv's.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Great Picture
  • Cons: Bad Interface

  • Excerpt: The picture quality is superb, easy to use with auto set up and comes with 2 RGB scarts and 2 HDMI scarts. Only disappiontment is theres no picture in picture and sound quality is average. DVD playback is as good as anything i have seen.
  • Pros: picture quality easy to operate
  • Cons: sound quality is average could be better. no picture in picture.

Panasonic TH42PX60CAB Plasma Tv Review

Andy Dunbar, Unbeatable

  • Excerpt: Owned the TH42PX60 for a week now and still being amazed at image quality. Had a loan LCD set whilst plasma was on order which was a great opportunity to compare. If you don't mind 'catch up' on fast motion and levels of grey when it should be black then LCD is bright clean and crisp. But the image on this plasma is superb - natural, warm and deep.
  • Pros: Picture outperforms any LCD I've seen for warmth, depth and talent for showing fast action scenes how they should be.
  • Cons: Sadly lacks the SD slot and picture in picture its LCD brother has.

  • Summary: Connect a HTPC, gaming console (Xbox 360 or PS3) and Sky HD or Telewest TV-Drive, and a decent home cinema system for digital sound... and you're laughing. This piece of art will up-convert standard definiton to Hi-def. The best thing is the way it handles 1080p sources - very future proof. I like the Freeview, it's very important for when the UK goes digital broadcasting from 2008-2012.
  • Pros: Twin HDMI, Freeview, picture quality
  • Cons: No digital audio I/O and no multiwindow for when I want to keep an eye on the CCTV

  • Summary: Excellent product for the price. I nearly spent a lot more money on the TH42PV500 and was on the verge of buying it when they released the TH42PX60B. Side by side I think the PX60 is a better picture (although I still like the styling on the PV500). Sound quality is slightly better on the PV500 but on a screen like this you want to use an external sound system anyway so who cares. The PX60 is cheaper than the PV500 - can't fathom out why though.
  • Pros: Picture quality and ease of setup and use
  • Cons: Sound quality
