Screen Was Bad on Arrival But Was Swapped Out Fast
5 February 2013
Summary: I heard some bad reviews about this product. It's too bad, because I've been buying flawless Panasonic Plasma's since 2002. Panasonic is the best in TV's, but this particular model has been shown to have similar negative reviews. I do appreciate Panasonic taking care of their problems.
Summary: I bought this TV in Nov, 2012. It broke five weeks after delivery. The TV shuts itself down during a movie and wouldn't turn back on. I went through the steps advised in the manual and those that were outlined over the phone by the Panasonic tech support staff. The TV was dead. I remain neutral on Panasonic tech support. The person I spoke with seemed to be reading from a script. All the technical questions I asked were not answered.
Summary: The TV is everything I thought it would be. After going back and forth over this set and the comparable Samsung I picked the Panasonic. I'm glad I did, not because the Samsung is bad its because this set is so good. I have another Panasonic and well as they say stick with what works. The 3 stars rating would be a 5 if it weren't for the delivery. Scheduling was fine BUT, No 2 man crew. I helped bring in from truck, No set up of TV.
Summary: This TV is hyped as the best bang for the buck available. This is true, if you meet the following criteria: 1. you have a dark viewing environment; 2. you watch HD/16:9/cinema aspect programming almost exclusively; and 3. you live in a cold weather climate or your home has air conditioning. 1. This set does get very bright - plenty bright for our fairly bright living room.
Summary: TV works great and I feel I got a great deal on it despite the fact that the TV casing on the back has a very clear dent in it that I don't believe happened during shipping. Luckily it doesn't seem to effect the picture at all and the front of the TV looks brand new. I think I should be able to get the dent out with a little handy work. Another inconvenience was that they said everything was included with the TV but when I got it there was no power cord.
Summary: So this is actually the 2nd plasma I have owned. First off the picture quality on this television is amazing, I haven't utilized the 3d yet but from what I have heard it's pretty good. I love this t.v. it gets especially incredible when it gets dark, the picture and black levels improve dramatically. However, since I have owned a plasma before I was expecting some buzzing and when I first got the t.v. the buzzing was really subtle, you could hardly hear it.
Summary: Panasonic looks like they have created a wonderful plasma TV. However, the heat generated by a plasma TV is a problem in warmer climates, particularly during the summer. All the heat generated by these needs to be addressed by air conditioning in the summer in warmer climates such as California. If you are in a colder climate where summers are mild and no air conditioning needed, then the plasma is probably the way to go.
