Summary: I was skeptical of this set at first, when viewed in-store, it seemed dull and dim compared to the much brighter LCD's on display. Those employees, like a couple reviewers here, just have no idea how to properly set it up. Crank up the brightness and contrast, this is the most amazing picture quality I've seen in my home(make the employees set it to "vivid" for a quick way to compare). Gamers swear by Panasonic Plasmas, and this model is no exception.
Summary: I debated between getting a plasma or lcd TV and ended up going the plasma route. The price on this TV was really good and Panasonic Viera TVs have a good reputation. I've had it now for a few months and have to say I made the right decision. The picture is great.
Summary: If you are looking for a TV that has top of the line Picture, this is it. There aren't any extra features, apps, or systems for internet access, but that helps keep the costs low. Honestly, most of those features are available in most BluRay players, so they aren't needed in your TV anyways.
Summary: I ordered this TV Panasonic VIERA TC-P50ST50 50-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma TV on 12/16/2012 and received it on 12/20/2012. Unpacked and installed it in short order by myself. It's really big! I got this TV for sub-$600 and I'm a very happy person! The picture is great and setup was easy and relatively painless.
Summary: Hands down the best purchase i made for my parents last year, no doubt about it! Quality - Turned it on, not impressive from the get go. And BHAM! turned on the HD programming, suddenly i couldnt believe how awesome it looked - I just feel bad for this TV cuz it won't be used to its full potential as it is for my parents and they only have like 3 HD channels that they dont even use.
Summary: If you're smart enough to know you don't need a smart TV, this is an amazing value. The picture is stunning. The blacks are deep, the colors are realistic. It's hard to pass this up for the price. If you can do without a "smart TV" and all that 3D nonsense, this is an amazing TV. The one major con to consider is that it does only have two HDMI inputs. If you're using a home theatre receiver, though, this won't be a problem.
Summary: I won't go into any detail about the features of this TV. I think that we can all agree that the picture quality is amazing (after some tweaking) and all of the basic functions have been covered in previous reviews. One minor issue that I've seen addressed once or twice in these reviews is a rather annoying low buzz that comes from the set when showing whites and bright colors. It's real and can be VERY annoying.
Summary: This is probably the best bang for the buck TV at this size. It's a no frills model with a fantastic picture. Personally, I'm not interested in 3D, and I can get wi-fi connectivity through a blu ray player for less than buying the smart tv model. The screen is very glossy/reflective, and is best suited for dark rooms. Also, the hdmi ports are located on the back, not facing downward like my previous lcd hdtv.
