Summary: 4 months into owning the Viera I had to file a warranty claim with Panasonic. I have to say it was extremely easy. They scheduled an in home repair the next week and replaced the board that causes the common problem with this model. That problem is what many are experiencing due to the reviews read, unit powers off and then blinking red lights. It's been a couple days now and so far the tv has not powered down by itself. I will update again if the problem comes back.
Summary: After having great success with a larger Panasonic plasma, I decided to purchase this unit for my son. After two months, it developed a single vertical row of pixels that would either be off completely, or different colors (all the same color) creating a vertical line down the screen. Panasonic promptly replaced the plasma panel (not the entire unit) but after 2 weeks the same problem occured but in a different vertical row.
Summary: Unfortunately, we have experienced the same issue the other reviewer noted regarding a loud buzzing, depending on program material brightness. Dark scenes, it is fine. Half a screen white, you get a noticeable buzz. Full white screen, the buzz is so loud that you can hear it from 15 ft. away. It's a shame, b/c we love the image of this TV so much, we waited 10 days to see if we could put up with the noise and live with as a compromise of the great image. We can't.
