The Panasonic TC-P42G10 is a bit thicker than the V10 series. According to reviews, the Neo PDP technology is the special feature of this line of HDTVs. This promises better pictures with improved resolution, contrast and response time. The “Infinite Black” feature will make... Read more
The bottom line: With excellent picture quality marred by only a couple of flaws, the Panasonic TC-PG10 series sits near the head of the class of 2009. Read more
This THX certified 42 inch plasma TV has impressed buyers and critics through its exceptional black levels and overall picture quality, ever since its release, being overcome only by the newest series from Panasonic V10, and, of course, the long acclaimed – but now discontinued – Pioneer Kuro. In its size category, (as V10 doesn’t come in 42 inch), it is the best, and this Panasonic plasma TV rises over the S1 series, through its THX certification and the pack of... Read more
Plasma's Picture Dazzles, Web Extras Disappoint This 42-inch plasma dazzler blew us away with its stunning picture. Unfortunately, its online bona fides didn't measure up. After five minutes of exploring the Viera Cast interface, we wanted to forget about web content altogether. Widget customization is near zilch: Basic features like Amazon Video on Demand, stock info and weather are included, but they seem more sprinkled on than baked in. Read more

There's a reason why prices for the TCP42G10 have cratered. In set audio for the TCP42G10 is really inferior. If you are going to listen to any music at all (like movie or TV show sound track, at least) you will need to buy at extra cost a separate sound system that plugs into the back panel RCA jack for audio out. And mute the in-set audio. The in set audio does all sort of weird things to music and even voice unless you turn all the audio "enhancements" off. You will... Read more or see product
Fantastic picture and all that. PANASONICS HAVE BLACK LEVEL PROBLEMS! Google "panasonic black levels" and you'll find some information related to Panasonic plasma black levels rising DRAMATICALLY after a preset amount of hours. Panasonic has flip-flopped on the issue, initially stating it was due to an overly aggressive voltage regulation problem. They recanted and now state it's "normal". Your blacks will go from dark, dark black to a greyish color. Be warned before... Read more
I love this television. Even better than I expected. By far the best tv for the price. Outperforms televisions that go for twice the price. I did extensive research before making this purchase. The only things that worried me were its performance in a bright room and its potentially degraded black levels after a while (google it). It looks great even in my brightly lit room in the afternoon. But it looks even better at night when I do my serious viewing. As far as the... Read more
