Love It

Kenneth K., Newegg
25 November 2013
  • Summary: A little upset my ex-wife is getting this TV in the divorce, will definitely buy another LG brand after my experience with this TV.
  • Pros: The large screen for the price was a huge draw. Add in the fact that it is a plasma with the same panel that is found in LG's more feature rich (ie. expensive) models made this $799 purchase a no brainer. I've had no issues with this TV, it runs my DirecTV, Blu-Ray home theater, Xbox and PC with ...
  • Cons: I have zero issues with this TV, even 2 years later. I would like to address 2 other complaints people had though which are easily fixed. The shipping company was several days off delivery target and skipped me twice though. 1- "Image doesn't fit screen when connected to a PC" = You need to enabl...

  • Summary: This tv fits me perfectly. Right out of the box I applied blacknoir's isf settings from the forum here after reading many, many reviews for this tv & others & settled on this tv for the price, was $200 less than a comparable Panasonic.
  • Pros: price, size, color
  • Cons: can flicker in bright scenes

Worth $866

  • Pros: - Very clear and vibrant picture compared to my last 240hz LCDTV - Slim, and hangs off the wall perfectly. - Works seamlessly with my LG Bluray player. - Touch less buttons on the front of the TV, reminds me of the PS3.
  • Cons: -Heavy, it was hard for two of us to put this on the wall. -Sound isn't the best but it's livable. I'd recommend getting a better sound system. - Awful Harry Potter-esque remote. -The shipping company Ceva that Newegg uses was awful to deal with. I felt like I was trying to orchestrate an full on...

  • Pros: Great TV. This thing is HUGE. Makes my 32" look like a baby.
  • Cons: The only con I could think of would be the possibility of a burn in. I was told by LG to turn on the ISM method, and select orbiter to reduce the chances of Burn In.

Best plasma on the market

Nick J., Newegg
20 January 2012
  • Summary: My cons of previous plasmas, listed above, are all but gone on this model. It is thin, has a long life (longer warranty would be nice), almost no heat, and is energy efficient. Aside from not having apps and missing 3D, this is the best television for the price and size.
  • Pros: I write this review after being a Sony LCD owner for the past ten years and having seen several plasma televisions. My last Sony was a 10-bit LCD panel that had beautiful color rendition and gradients. It was only a 46 inch and we have a 13x25 foot entertainment room that just needed a bigger pic...
  • Cons: Like most other large panel displays this model suffers from uneven screen lighting. What I mean is not the consistency of the backlight, but rather the screen turning slightly brighter or darker to compensate for lighting darker scenes. I mainly noticed while watching Harry Potter the other nigh...

  • Summary: sam, to enable sound, you have to: 1) Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound ---> Enable HDMI Output and DISABLE laptop speakers. If you disable the speakers on your laptop when you have connected the laptop to the TV, the sound should go through HDMI to the TV.
  • Pros: This TV is excellent value. You get excellent black levels that eclipse any LED/LCD, nearly instantaneous response time (Plasma > LCD/LED in this regard) and unbeatable value. $1 grand for 60 inch plasma? Also, glass panel on a plasma helps to make it the colors more vibrant (Apple uses glass on ...
  • Cons: Energy consumption isn't as good as LED/LCDs. Whites and contrast ratio isn't as good as LED/LCDs.
